  • NoName...coming from someone who once experienced the hopeless despair of unexplained ED, my only advice is to look around PEGym and see the numerous stories of success, and you can decide where to go from there. This is the most supportive community I know, and it provides a great opportunity for men like us. Good luck and God bless.

    • Hello Noname and everyone else,

I just read this thread and have to say it was quite inspirational. Just a question to Noname are you still taking Viagra or are you completely off of it? I really hope that there is some where ED is reversible especially since we are still so young. I wouldnt wish this on anyone the strain and stress that has been put on me and my family has been tremendous.

I'm 38 years old and suddenly have the case of ED. Last last i was diagnoised with kidney stones and was talking a drug called Flowmax (used to make the stones come out easiier) for approximately 4 months. I have 2 kidney stones on my left side (that still have not come out). When i was taking Flowmax i found my morning erections to be rock hard even to the point where they were annoying especially when i wanted to urinate when i woke up.

After I was off the Flowmax (Dec 31st, 2010) i noticed that i had signs of ED. I first i could only get hard in certain positions (on my back) but now it has progressively gotten worse. I can only seem to get hard for a few seconds and needless to say it has put a major damper on my marriage. I have tried some kegel exercises and they seemed to have worked but the effectiveness seems to have lessened. I went to my family doctor and he thinks its psychological since i'm so 'young' but prescribed me some cialis which seemed to do the trick but im not sure i want to be taking drugs all my life in order to have sex. I will go see my urologist next month and see if he as any other test he can perform.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it related to my kidney stones? How about any good kegel exercises to try? Like I said this has been really trying times for my and my wife. Hopefully we will get past this. Thanks!

        • Hi Noname, Yes i think you have to choose wisely about which item you want to choose. I dont care who says it but there are side effects to all drugs. My family doctor prescribed me cialis and said there is no side effects i think its too early to tell since it hasnt been in the market for so long. Plus alot of ppl who have ED have some sort of health problem so the side effect of these ED drugs could be masked. I'm just saying since sometime you have to choose the lesser of 2 evils. As for me I have been doing more kegel exercises and i think i was doing them incorrectly. Now that i think i am doing them right i have noticed that i can get erect in certain positions. But i guess that doesnt mean anything since whenever i have sex with my wife if turns flacid, so i will have to see if these exercises work. One of the exercises ask you to try to touch or move your penis where it hits/touches your belly. I think in the past when i was normal i was able to perform this not i can working my way up to just moving it abit. Are you guys able to perform this where you can move your penis upwards towards (or fling it) your belly with just your penis muscles?

          • I have been taking 1% T gel since November. Although it does increase my libido, it does not significantly improve my erections because my ED is a result of neuropothy as a result of many years of diabetes. I have discussed side effects with my Endo and Uro. My Endo recommends that I stop the TRT since it is not significantly improving my ED and he feels the longer I continue TRT, the longer it will take to recover my natural T production. My Uro advises that since there is some improvement, I should continue the TRT and that I can always eventually recover my T production if I do decide to quit TRT. So far (4 months), my nuts have not shown any sign of reduction. I have also read that the shrinkage, if any, will not be significant. However, I am 69, so the ability to reproduce is not an issue for me.

I have decided to continue with TRT for a few more months to see if there is a more positive effect on my ED. Also, I like the increased libido which I can compliment with Viagra.

            • I am almost 50 and do have some thoughts to add to this post. First ED can definitely be influenced by psychological factors. When I was 15 I read a book on sex. I was a typical 15 year old with raging hormones and an insatiable sex drive. One chapter in the book said "do not read this chapter if you do not have problems with erections"

Of course that got me so curious I had to read it. After reading the chapter I discovered what impotence was and caused me to become afraid I might not be able to achieve hard erections. And I was not able to achieve hard erections after reading about impotence for about 1-2 months. Come to find out the fear of achieving a good erection causes the muscles in your penis to stiffen and constricts blood vessels so you don't get good blood supply to penis for a good erection. The harder you try the worse it is.
Often failure once or twice to achieve a good erection starts a cycle of fear that worsens the problem.

For the last two years I have began to have occasional problems firmness in erections. Started using generic cialis, viagra, levitra to assist. Found out I had low testosterone levels to boot that add to the problem.

I had not tried any natural supplements as I have not had real results in the past from them for other things.
However a friend recently gave me a new natural supplement he was trying to get me into selling. I was not interested as I didn't have much faith in trying it.
But to be polite I promised him I would try the pill he was to send me and report back the results. He is 72 and was all fired up about how it had helped him.

I took the 1 pill he sent me and did not expect anything. However after about 2 hours I began to get an erection without any stimulation at all. By the time I went to bed about 4 hours later I had the hardest erection I have probably had in 15 years. And it stayed. Even after sex I had to masturbate again when wife was in the bathroom because I was still hard as a rock.

For about 4 days it was ready on demand with very hard erections at will. Problem is the stupid stuff is about $12-$15 a pill. I definitely don't want to become an ED supplement salesman but this stuff really seemed to work,
Anyone else had luck with any of the natural supplements to improve erection firmness and consistency?

              • I have fairly severe ED as a result of neuropothy, due to 18 years of diabetes. I can usually get up to an 8+ erection with 50 mg of Viagra. Before starting PE, I needed 100 mg. However, I have been getting similar results (probably an 8) with just Maxidus. I take one pill 2 -3 hours in advance and another 20 minutes in advance. I have been taking Maxidus off and on for over two years, but recently the results have become more satisfying and last for several hours. The improved results, in my case, however, may be the consequence of several additional factors: 1) I started PE 15 months ago, 2) I started TRT last November, and 3) I started using an insulin pump a year ago which has improved my blood sugar control. However, even before the above three additional factors came into play, I was able to achieve a strong semi with Maxidus alone. An additional parameter that could account for the recently improved results may be attributed to the fact that I use Maxidus more often (3 - 4 times a week) and there may be a cumulative effect.

                • Update: 3-4 weeks off T gel. Situation not as bad as I feared. Get nocturnal erections. Can still get a 10 EQ stiffy. Takes a bit more stimulation though. I don't think I will start T therapy again.

Looking back: May last year started to get erection problems. June/July experienced nearly complete impotence. Could at best get 3-4 EQ. Slow progress August-December. January felt effect of T gel. Could at any time get a 10 EQ. Stopped T gel. Now well think it's not that bad after what I've been through the last year.

That is good to hear. Stay thinking positive my friend and good things will come to you.
