With the whole alkaline/acidic argument, I've read both sides. So the other more accepted side in the scientific community is that the alkaline mumbo jumbo is just that. mumbo jumbo. and that your stomach is so acidic it doesn't matter much how alkaline whatever it is you're consuming is ... or so that's how I remember it ... but I also remember reading the Kevin Trudeau book about health lol

Personally, I don't follow the alkaline/acidic theory, but I do believe that we need to balance our eating habits and incorporate Vegetables, Fruits, Healthy Fat, Proteins, and carbohydrates in our diet and try to avoid simple/table sugar and phytates. Well, there's a lot more to it than that, but that's OFF-Topic

I think that just by doing THAT, you'll be creating enough of an alkaline environment that you won't need to look too deeply into anything else on that topic. Fruits, vegetables and the avoidance of synthetic food-stuff should be enough.

Or just drink fresh lemon juice. Although its sour it has alkaline profile.

Trust me cow's milk is not healthy for you, try drinking almond milk instead.

If you want strong bones eat green vegetables and drink almond milk.

I took a nutrition class, and the teacher (also a certified dietitian) told us about a study in China that when they started consuming cows milk like us Americans do, they started seeing more cases of osteoporosis.

What you've heard is quite correct. Pasteurized milk is not the worst thing you can have, but it's not beneficial as advertised. You'll find that dairy industry will advertise the benefits of milk, whole raw milk, which is accurate but unfortunately that is not what they are selling. Whole raw milk is exceptionally beneficial to drink, child or adult. The problem is that it's near impossible to get in the US, even illegal in some states. There was a time raw milk was the source of some serious illnesses and the govt pretty much mandated that all milk be pasteurized once the process was discovered. There's many studies that show the benefits of raw milk and how the pasteurization has altered its health benefits but because of the possibility of illness if not handled properly the govt won't reverse the ban.

If you drink your mother's milk, doubt you need anything else.

YES! You are 100% correct. Drinking cow's milk is unnatural and unhealthy for a human being. Good Job! Too bad 99% of people believe the dairy commercials on TV saying the opposite. Just think, advertisements being dishonest just to make money? Say it isn't so!

CUSP, you are very intelligent, but I might have to correct you on this one. I remember, in University, going to a nutritional seminar in Atlanta GA. In this study they fed calves pasteurized milk, like what humans drink, and the calves did absolutely die! I not kidding you, it's true.

Well hen don't tell my 90 year old dad; he drinks about 2 quarts a day as has for a long long time. Maybe I'm lucky he's not a calf!

As far as the alkaline/acidic argument goes, I always thought the whole theory was just full of shit.

Then, 5 years ago, I changed my diet. I avoided foods that made my body acidic and focused on foods that made my body alkaline. The results were incredible: I lost 28 pounds and I do not get sick anymore, ever. Sounds unbelievable, but that is exactly what happened to me.
