I haven't noticed anything different PE-wise when I do alternate day fasting vs. when I just eat normally. I've been in the habit of doing it for anywhere from two weeks to two months at a stretch. Since starting PE I have only done a period of alternate day fasting once - for about 3 weeks ending last week and I didn't notice anything special or different during that time but I freely admit I wasn't looking for a PE difference.

Hey, I didn't notice any difference in the first few days either. Short duration fasts and longer fasts are actually totally different in how they interact with your body, particularly the digestive system. It has been documented that the first 3-4 days for most people (of a healthy weight) consume only body fat, while the following days may start to weaken, loosen, and ultimately eat muscle. It is also suggested that after 5 days of water fasting, that the digestive system completely shuts off, something that would never happen during a shorter, alternate-day fast. Alternate day fasts are great, but they are different, so I wouldn't want you to be discouraged from possibly trying a longer one if you have hard flaccid problems or just pelvic floor tension.Originally posted by Steneo View PostI haven't noticed anything different PE-wise when I do alternate day fasting vs. when I just eat normally. I workout as well, though I'm certainly no bodybuilder. I would guess (based on a self observation of my body and my weight change) that I lost around 9 pounds of fat and 1-2 pounds of muscle during my 7 days. Keep in mind that I was EXTREMELY active during this time - I went to work everyday, I walked miles a day, and I was generally not down or resting often. I also have a fast metabolism. If you have time to rest or just take it easy during the fast, you could probably cut your losses down to about 8 pounds in 7 days I would imagine. I am 6 feet tall exactly and around 150 pounds normally. I lost down to 138.5 by the last day of the fast and I have climbed back to 146 about 2 weeks later.Originally posted by johnderite View PostThank you for your contribution, well appreciated.
Will dig in to the fasting properties;
I also workout, and for that matter how much weight did you lose during your fast? Lots of muscle lost?Focus on the positive :D

Please, in addition to my advice, research fasting before attempting it and decide if it's right for you. Good luck man!Originally posted by johnderite View PostOk, so the lose is quite important, but not too hardcore, especially if its mostly fat.
Thanks again for taking the time to write down your contribution

Here is what to expect:
Stage 3 I think is of particular importance to helping with hard flaccid.

I've just completed my first 24 hour fast and found it easier than I had expected. But going for a week or more with no food is definitely going to be a lot more challenging! But I do think we will need to get into the deep stages of detoxification to thoroughly cleanse our bodies of waste and rebalance the central nervous system.

Staysup, I'll happily add any additional testimony you can offer to the main body of my post if you do the full 7 days or more and have good results. If this idea turns out to work for more people than just me I wanna get it out to the world!Focus on the positive :D

While doing some research, I found something pretty interesting, the guy did a 14 day fast for several reasons and seemed to have some penis related problems that were resolved after the fast:
If you read the whole story ( http://www.propeciahelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6142 ) you can see that the guy improved on a several important issues of his.- My penis used to have a tight feeling to it, there was strong tension on it like it was being pulled inward. This has gone away. It's now larger when flaccid.
I have always had erections in the morning and those continue, but now I get random erections throughout the day. This hasn't happened in... I can't remember how long. I thought it went away because I had matured, but it's back and it's a good thing.
Read threw out all the pages on that thread, some very interesting facts and improvements!
More I read about fasting, the more I see no reason not to do it, loads of benefits. Even if hard flaccid doesn't completely heal it will probably improve indirectly through the benefits on sleep, positivity, metabolism...etcLast edited by johnderite; 02-09-2013, 04:59 AM.

While I am inspired by your enthusiasm, please realize fasting does have its risks. Fasting is very dangerous for certain individuals, including, but not limited to, people with heart problems, people with diabetes, women who are pregnant, people who are obese due to eating disorders, people with bulimia, people with anorexia (this one is obvious I hope), as well as people with exceptionally low blood pressure. Fasting is great for you if you do not have a pre-existing condition that would have its problems amplified by a fast.Originally posted by johnderite View PostMore I read about fasting, the more I see no reason not to do it...
Final note: the way you start and finish a fast are by far the most important aspects of the fast. If you neglect doing these things properly, it can have dire consequences and even result in death. If you are cautious and respectful of what fasting is and how it should be done, you will be greatly rewarded.Focus on the positive :D

That quote was obviously aimed at people in good health.
I'm in my 20s, very healthy with a strict diet and a sports junkie, so no worries for me
Also I had just a few questions:
Where you affected by CPPS, in other words, by pelvic floor issues (such as frequent urination, discomfort in the pelvic floor, tightness...etc) or just by a mild hard flaccid? If so, did all your pelvic issues, besides hard flaccid, also disappear?
Prior to the fast, were you doing anything to eliminate your hard flaccid? Stretching? Anti-inflammatory diet?
Would you advise stretching during the fast?
I know that juicing is advised for a few days after the fast, but what did you do in your case?
Once I have gathered all the infos, I will probably aim for a 10 day fast if my body allows it nicely.Last edited by johnderite; 02-10-2013, 04:55 AM.

abone2pick, i have just begun my water fast and am on the third day. How many days into the fast did you notice your hard flaccid go away? Mine is just a minor case but I am still worried about it. I am planning to do this for 7-10 days but as many as 14 as I also have other injuries in my body I am hoping this fast will alleviate. Thanks for the great idea and hope you've given me.
