There is a good portion of the male community that would be a bunch of limp dicked has beens if it wasn't for Big Pharmacy. I respect them for that, I also understand the profit motive, I own a business after all. The thing that irks me is the incredible mark ups they place on medications that are not covered by insurance. Almost to the point of being ridiculous. Costs me over $10 a day to take a daily Cialis - $300+ dollars a month. There is no formula on earth that can justify those prices. If they lowered them even by half, so many more could be able to afford and their profits would be even greater.

If you are female, your birth control should be free AND covered by insurance. If you are male, it is a "lifestyle" drug and you pay through the nose for it. Prior to Obamacare, these drugs were at least partially covered by insurance. Since obamacare, it has been full out of pocket. I justify it by telling my wife she is an expensive date, but worth it.

Don't get me started on the Affordable Care Act, that crock of shit that promised I could keep my doctor but I had to get health insurance. There were only a handful of health insurance options open for over $200 month, and $900 or $1200 penalty for not having insurance. I never get sick and I was already covered by the VA for $17 a month. If you ask me Obamacare was more of a tax on the young and healthy than anything else.

I honestly don't know how you guys put up with the stress of not being able to afford health insurance. The worry of that alone would make me ill. Great if everyone could afford it, but that's obviously not the case.

The NHS is by no means perfect, underfunded, understaffed, too much wastage, the list goes on. But everyone pays their fair share based on their income.

Yes, the big scary doctors are out to get you and you can cure your craziness with some essential oils mixed with spring water, or smoke a bowl of marijuana while watching Dr. Oz and pretend you know more about medicine than any doctor would learn from twelve years of medical school and 20+ years of practice.

Who said anything about Drs being out to get their pts? I think most Drs. choose the profession because they truly enjoy helping people TGD. Many Drs however have come to realize that they weren't really taught how to help people, they were taught what drugs to prescribe for particular health problems because the drug companies have a large say in what most medical schools. Why? Because they provide much financial support to medical schools and therefore have influence in the curriculum.
I've heard of Dr Oz, but really have no idea what he is all about.
It's easy to make the argument that the drugs pharmacy companies introduce in droves each year are safe and effective because they have all these studies to prove they work. Who pays for the studies? pharmacy companies.
Tamora hit the nail on the head. The pharmacy industry is all about money and greed. It doesn't mean that all medicines are evil and ineffective, though many medicines create new problems while curing an old one. But that's ok because a new drug will come out to fix the new problem caused by the last new drug.
It is the most brilliant business model in the history of mankind and likely the most profitable all in the name of helping people.

I spent more on health care last year than I did on car payment and rent comb8ned. Office visits on 350 to 400 dollars for 5 minutes with the doctor. Nothing they can do to help but you must go if you will keep your drivers license. So on and so forth. I spend more on health care than I have for housing and food for quite a few years now. The US is a great nation that now prides itself on America first and it's patriotism. I just don't get it why so many are being so elitist and against collectively paying when it comes to looking after the nations health.

The "Affordable Health Care Act" ie. Obamacare was nothing but a crock from the start. Penalties for not buying insurance? Fine, we with just deduct that from your tax refund. Smacked those least likely to afford it right in the pocketbook. A bill of goods sold to the American public that was noting other than a sham. People lost their doctors, premiums went through the roof all needlessly as they had a nice story that the pain everyone was suffering was for the common good. My health care premiums doubled under the reign of Obama. Thank the bloody lord he is gone.

On the bright side the American economy is booming under Mr. Trump. Think what you may, he has sparked quite the fire under businesses to build and expand.

No. just because I care for people in your country doesn’t mean I have to give an opinion about how you all do things. Live and yet live. Watch the BBC news please. Let me know how much of it is focused on U.S. or Trump, the shut down...whatever. We hear about your tragedies there, the attacks and terrible fire. But little about your political situation, other than the Royals of course. Guess it just isn’t our business.
