No one who was even remotely familiar with AGW "science" - not to mention science in general - would express themselves in that manner.Originally posted by Injoker View PostClimate change is very clearly largely impacted by human activity, the science is clear. You clearly don't know what ad hominem means, lol. As I say, you give yourself away with every syllable.Originally posted by Injoker View PostAd hominem doesn't do you any favours.
Btw, nor is that^ ad hominem.
It's a simple fact that no real scientist talks that way; believers and propagandists, however, do.

Where Does the Carbon Dioxide Really Come From?
PLIMER: "Okay, here's the bombshell. The volcanic eruption in Iceland . Since its first spewing of volcanic ash has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet - all of you.
Of course, you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress - it's that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans and all animal life.
I know..it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kids "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacationing at home instead of abroad, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cent light bulbs with $10.00 light bulbs...well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days.
The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in just four days - yes, FOUR DAYS - by that volcano in Iceland has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon.
And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time - EVERY DAY.
I don't really want to rain on your parade too much, but I should mention that when the volcano Mt Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth.
Yes, folks, Mt Pinatubo was active for over One year - think about it.
Of course, I shouldn't spoil this 'touchy-feely tree-hugging' moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change.
And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the bush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year.
Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the bogus 'human-caused' climate-change scenario.
Hey, isn't it interesting how "they" don't mention 'Global Warming' anymore, but just 'Climate Change'.
You know why?
It's because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming bull artists got caught with their pants down.
And, just keep in mind that you might yet have an Emissions Trading Scheme - that whopping new tax - imposed on you that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer. It won't stop any volcanoes from erupting, that's for sure.
But, hey, relax......give the world a hug and have a nice day!"The world's still a toy if you just stay a boy!

To make this simple then. We can all agree that millions of years ago, the planet was warmer. Billions of years before that, we also know the planet was too warm for life to exist. Ok,so now lets go the opposite end. We all know that billions of years ago, the planet cooled, so liquid water could exist. We also know millions of years ago, to even tens of thousands of years ago, the planet cooled as we entered the ice age. In the past 2.5 million years we have entered numerous ice ages. To enter an ice age, means that the planet must of been warmer in the past, otherwise why call it an ice age if the temperature was the same. We are now currently leaving an ice age, as the planet is warming and the glaciers that formed during the ice age will now melt. These changes happened way before humans ever existed.Originally posted by Injoker View PostClimate change is very clearly largely impacted by human activity, the science is clear. Communists didn't die, they just hired a PR guy and rebranded themselves Environmentalists. They still try to take control of the means of production, except this time its to "stop global warming!".
Spoiler alert. This earth will go on to have more Ice Ages and Warm periods LONG after we are gone. To think we can stop what this blue spinning globe has been doing for billions of years is arrogance.Start: NBPEL: 5.5", BPEL: 6.5", BPFSL: 6 5/8", MEG: 5.4"
Current: NBPEL: 6 5/8", BPEL: 7 5/8", BPFSL 7.75", MEG: 5.5", Base Girth: 5.75"

What has the above posts got to do with me not wanting to eat food with faces and disagree how milk is mass produced??? If you want to become a Vegan, Tara, then become a vegan. You have total control, and should eat and do whatever you can with your life that makes you happy. If becoming a vegan makes you feel better, then that's what you should. Do whatever makes you happy. That's my advice.

There is a reason over 600 thousand people in the united states alone die of heart related diseases almost exclusively caused by there diets. People aren't getting diabetes and clogged arteries from eating too many vegetables.. I agree i see vegans all the time that don't look healthy, but that could be for many reasons. Oreos and soda are technically vegan but doesn't make them healthy choices. If you do your research and you live a well rounded vegan diet you will thrive. If you eat nothing but bread chips and oreos all day you are guna have a problem. Just like you would if you just ate steak all day.Originally posted by Dick-tator View PostI think eating grass fed beef is far healthier than being vegan; indeed, I cannot think of a healthier food.
OTOH, I know plenty of pescatarians, vegans, vegetarians who swear by their diet - mind you, they don't always look healthy, but maybe they're dealing with an illness and that's why they're on their diet in the first place? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
However, here's my question: what do we mean by ethical practices here?
I buy all of my meat from a number of small farms outside the city; grass fed (except da chickens! mmmm), no one "tortures" them, they seem to lead fairly placid lives (I visit once in a while to say hello, etc.), and then they are put on a truck and butchered.
Is THAT^ what you mean by "unethical"? Or is it something else?
.
So you may buy your meat from a farm that doesn't torture animals, maybe they are free range and therefore they live a better life than the animals locked in cages in slaughter houses. But the end result is the same, DEATH! So you buy humane meat? What makes it humane? That they just put a bullet in the animals head? Or they hung it upside down slit the throat and let it bleed out? Those are considered "humane practices" but let me paint a picture for you.
Say i take a girl out on a date, she really likes me and we end up going back to my place. I make her a drink and without her looking slip a roofie in it. She passes out and i proceed to rape her while shes unconscious(not feeling a thing). Then when I'm done i put a bullet in her head. She didn't feel a thing, she didn't see it coming, there was no torture. So does this make it ok? Is this humane? Remember she didn't feel a thing! The answer is of course not, because the act of killing in itself is evil. You cannot kill something that doesn't want to die in a nice or "humane way" Besides what people may think, animals were not put on this earth for humans to do whatever we please with. They aren't our property. Unfortunately they are born into this life with a death sentence and date when they will be slaughtered. Animals have a will to live just like humans.
And for the record most animals don't die in a "humane" way. The footage is out there, its one click away and you can how these animals are treated and how they really die. The problem is no one wants to see those videos because the videos are depressing and hard to watch. Think about this if its hard for you to watch how hard do you think it is for the animal living that nightmareLast edited by Florida636; 04-18-2018, 11:21 PM.

Grass fed beef is extremely good for you. As far as animals being slaughtered for our nutritional benefit, I have zero problems with that.
I do think we have an obligation to treat animals with respect and to care for them.
However, at the same time, the chain of being isn't some horizontal wonderland, it's vertical. And vertically, every being lives on the death of what is below it. This is simply how it is.
Your girlfriend you've hypothetically drugged, raped and shot isn't a farm animal. And neither are you.

If we needed to eat animals to live it would be a different story, we don’t. Our bodies thrive on plant based diets. Why not choose the more compassionate diet that doesn’t involve torture and slaughter.Originally posted by Dick-tator View PostGrass fed beef is extremely good for you. Like I said before you can’t treat something kindly and with respect if you are killing it for your own benefits.
Funny how the chain of being is only mentioned when it’s convienent for humans. If someone is running on a trail in the mountains and a bear attacks and eats them it’s an all hunt to kill the rogue bear. No one is saying oh well the person had it coming it’s the chain of being.
And whether you are a farm animal, a lion, a dog, Black, white, Jewish, whatever, all beings on this planet deserve to be born free and live a live a life without being slaved, tortured or slaughtered. If you don’t think animals deserve that right then like most people you are a speciesist. “They don’t look like us, they don’t talk like us, they aren’t smart like us” therefore they don’t deserve to live right?
Remember not too long ago black people weren’t treated as equals either(just like animals aren’t today) humans have a long rap sheet of discriminating against other beings cause they don’t look, talk, or act the same. Took 400 years for white men to realize black people shouldn’t be slaves and are not just property. So obviously it’s guna take a lot longer for us to realize the same goes for animals. Sorry rant over lol
