You see, it is difficult for me to not take this personally when you keep saying "YOU". I would actually like to disengage in this waaaaaaaay off topic discussion but I am compelled to respond when I feel that I am being accused of something this ugly when in fact you are the ONLY person on this thread that has EVER brought up skin color! NOBODY else has said anything remotely like what your talking about. Your above comment about what I think of brown people is ludicrous and offensive! Once again, I HAVE NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO INDICATE I HOLD ANY OF THESE VIEWS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!!! I have not said one single word about skin color, in fact you are alarming me with your generalizations about white people. If you want a discussion about your racial concerns, go a head, but leave me out of it. That is not the discussion happening here.

      I apologize for offending you.

Maybe my delivery of said information was insensitive and incorrect and I own that mistake. I apologize for singling you out as well, as that was never my intention. I didn't want you to take it personally as an attack. It's not an attack and honestly i would NEVER pin that on you. I would never say you had that in you. That's not something you believe, based on what I've seen around the forums.

All i mentioned was that these ideological views have these tendencies to trend towards an "Us vs. Them" mentality when it really should be a "We" in this country.

Unfortunately, my intention to point out the "Us vs. Them" mentality only further flamed it. I own that mistake and will recant what I said since it's not helping understanding.

yes I am an American. Born and raised as I said earlier in this thread.

let me uhhhh disillusion you a little bit.

STUDY: Watching Fox News Makes You Less Informed Than Watching No News At All - Business Insider

Unfortunately, Fox News is an entertainment network, not REAL news... So sorry, you're watching a righ Wing propaganda network. And according to this study, people who watch The Daily Show with John Stewart are actually far more informed than Fox News watchers.

You really should open your mind and heart to the people of this nation and stop living so closed up. It's bad for you and the nation when you do this

I still think you're a great guy, just wish you'd open your mind a bit...

BTW, John Stewart didn't really "talk" much in that clip... he basically explained what happens at hospitals when the uninsured go for problems (the cost is passed on to paying customers and the costs rise for insurance holders and regular non-insured payers.)

I'm not mad at you and definitely wish you the best of days too
I don't have anything against you either. I am just fed up with this government, both sides. If feeling the way I do classifies me as a bigot, I guess I am.

My heart and mind is open. Just wish people would do more for themselves instead of depending on the government.

You have to admit that Obamacare/The Affordable Healthcare Act is a joke. Especially with the time they had to get it ready. Plus all the money that was spent for roll out and it is a complete flop. That doesn't raise red flags in your mind.

We have gotten way off topic here. Lets just leave it be. You have your point of view and I have mine. Take care.

Boy you guy had fun so far huh? Personally the football game was better. Be that as it may ( I just love that expression but I really don't know what it means) let's go along a different tact.

The problem was 30-40 million people without healthcare. Could not have something been done to help those people, roughly 10% of the country, to get insurance without affecting the 90% that had insurance they felt was fine? Many politicians had programs for that from both sides of the isle but yet we got this mess.
While we at it we know that there are two entities that Americans don't like. First and foremost they really don't like the government. They waste tax payer dollars, lie, and are very inefficient. We don't like insurance companies either. Hey they take our money and when we need help it's a pain in the ass to get any back. What Obamacare does is now it put two crooks in charge of healthcare, not jut one. Hence we're screwed!

I don't know much about the health care law or about the US being a terrible country or place to live. I'm glad to live here instead of being born into a situation with which i had no escape or hope. We surly have our problems and I think it starts at the top with the government. These people have been running wild and corrupt for many, many years and it comes from both sides. Most of these people live like they are stars. They are not representing the people anymore so to say that the Americans are the problem, is unfare to say because at this time we really have no control over what is happening.

I definitely think things needed to be done to the health care system to make it better for people who truly needed the help and to take out the corruption, but this bill was not the way to do it. The way they had to force it through because they couldn't get it passed normaly. The famous line, "you have to pass it before you see whats in it". It's corrupt at its core in that it was all done by people who were trying to help their own intrests and not that of the people's. Granted they have idiots everywhere in the world but you can't judge a whole country off of a few people who do or say something stupid and put out it for the world to see. Just my thoughts. Good morning everyone

                        Question:

Why is President Obama distancing himself from the term "Obama Care?

Answer; because when it was a concept it sounded great. Now that the light of reality is upon it and people don't think it's all that great it makes political sense to not only not to call it Obamacare but to also to stress the "affordable" in the ACA to make u stupid people think we're either getting something for nothing or something really good really cheap.
