I did not say the majority of people, just a few. I did not point out the immature opinions because I do not want to misdirect this thread from its purpose/topic with my own grievances with certain attitudes here, which subsequently I have done. I also do not want to directly confront individuals or start some kind of argumentative back-and-forth with individuals, like what I have seen several times in other threads. While at the same time I needed to vent in some form or other about said attitudes, hence the comment. If you have any more grievance with this, I suggest you PM, as I do not want to misdirect the thread any more than I already have done.

There are different perceptions what being a "real" man is. There are the "assholes", the "nice guys" and the "in between guys". I would much rather be with the guy who is nice and in between.


20 characteristics of a the ultimate man
1. A man treats women with respect. If you don’t respect women, you’re not a man. Period.

20 Characteristics of a Real Man | be Legendary

I am the nice guy, who is sometimes an asshole and occasionally I am the guy in-between. I laugh, I cry, I love and some day I'll die, I am all of the above, I tell no lie.

I disagree with some of the 20 characteristics of a "real man", while some of these are good wholesome qualities that should be valued by both sexes, its seems as though this passage is telling guys what's expected of them to "be a man" isn't this thread about the damage caused by this, I need no approval, man is what God made me!

I think you may be slightly offended had I posted something that is telling women what is to be expected of them in order to be real women (I'm just saying, not attacking). Women like men are perfectly imperfect from the very beginning and need not do anything in order to be exactly what they already are.

Men and women are two sides of the same coin, there isn't much difference between us apart from genitalia, we both have the same hopes, dreams, fears, loves and hates.

Love, respect, support and understand your man and he will give to you the rarest jewel he can give, his own heart, not something man can share easily, from being attacked all our lives we keep it well guarded.

One of us blaming the other is kind of like your right arm picking a fight with your left, no one is going to win, we all still have to live together and would do better to live in harmony, than in hate, without placing unnecessary expectations upon each other. Treat people as you would like to be treated, that is all you can expect.

I support my family, not because I am a "real man" and not because its expected of me, just simply because I love them and this is my nature, the two most important things in my life are worth the time I spend at work to support them, I am grateful for them and want them to be happy. Respect is given not demanded.

Allow yourself to be the natural human being you were intended to be and everyone should benefit, playing a role is not the real thing.
