I don't really do any manual exercises now. Just the occasional kegels and fowfers. I did a newbie routine when I first started PE but didn't really see any lasting gains from about a year of jelqing and manual stretching, so I gave up on it.Originally posted by cockmasterflex View PostThanks for the replies.
Do you also do any manual exercises in addition to using the Phallosan?

Update about Veins:
My veins aren't nearly as hard or painful as they became yesterday while masturbating, but they still ache a little and feel slightly distended in places even while flaccid. I think I'm going to take a few rest days to try and avoid aggravating the injury.
Edit: I now believe what I was experience was a lymphatic rather than a venous congestion. The problem still occasionally recurs on the right side at the base of my penis but hasn't been as painful or pervasive since.Last edited by pudendal; 08-19-2014, 11:45 PM.

Delaying 2 Month Measurement:
Tomorrow would be 2 months since I started using the phallosan, but I am delaying my monthly measurement. Maybe I am being overly cautious, but after the initial hard painful veins in my shaft, I even started to feel some tenderness and congestion in the venous plexus inside the scrotum (like the classic varicocele "bag of worms" on palpation). I decided its better to be safe than sorry so I've been taking an extended break. Everything seems to be getting back to normal so I'll probably resume in the next few days.

Phallosan Support Thread Summary:
I hadn't been keeping up with the support thread since the length is pretty daunting, but over the past few days I read through it. I had already figured out much of this, but I decided to make a list of takeaways to summarize what I thought might be helpful (through post #1190):
1) When rolling the condom up over the bell to apply the device, leave a short length of the condom unrolled to allow room to stretch up and over the bell without tearing.
2) There seems to be a difference in opinion about how erect you should be when applying the device. Ultimately I think it doesn't really matter. It is a little easier to put the protector cap on with an erect or semi-erect penis, but because my glans barely fits in the medium bell but the large bell is still too big, I've been putting it on while completely flaccid. I think there's no one correct answer to this question but depends on the individual penis. Whatever you can do to be sure you get your glans snuggly inside the protector cap and bell to avoid high pressures/edema is the way to go.
3) Excess powder on the condom sleeves can cause loss of suction.
4) In response to a question about the package for the replacement condoms, Julian answered "the packages are always sent 100% discrete." As I mentioned in a previous post, "silicone" was written on the customs form attached to the package I received with the condoms. This wasn't an issue for me, but I could see how someone living with flatmates or a wife/girlfriend might think this wasn't "100% discrete."
5) Consensus seems to be that a gentle green to low-yellow pull for as many hours as possible will yield the best results. There is disagreement as to whether rest days are helpful.
6) Condoms are supposed to last 2-4 months when maintained properly. Many people (including myself) report condoms breaking much quicker especially until you get the feel for how to handle them carefully.
7) In several posts (76, 426, and 1170) Julian describes somehow adjusting the device so that the tension is relieved from the foam ring and focused on the vacuum bell. Diesel225 gives a more detailed description of this (463). I don't understand this idea entirely. The_Based_God also mentions his confusion on this point (444), but BBB (449), jonathonroberts (1070), and Dreamon (1071) seem to substantiate Julian's point. I'd appreciate if anyone could explain this to me better. What I get from Diesel225's instructions is that you should put both hands behind your back and run your thumbs under the belt loosening the tension in the direction toward the foam ring while pulling the tension to the appropriate traffic light position with the other hand?
8) Users report chafing where the foam ring pulls against the shaft with extended use and suggest switching directions when this occurs. This has also been my experience and solution.
9) Julian and some users emphasize the importance of making sure your glans and the protector cap are dry before applying the device so as to avoid skin maceration and edema.
10) Erythema and edema resulting from the vacuum tends to resolve within minutes to hours, Petechiae tend to resolve within days.
11) The device is safe and comfortable to wear to sleep after an initial acclamation period of use while awake. Some users suggest setting the device to a lower tension for sleep to accommodate nocturnal erections.
12) Some users suggest cleaning the condoms and protector cap with soap and water every few days. I haven't been doing this.
13) Some users stop using the protector cap after a few weeks, others (like me) plan to continue using the protector cap. While the cap helps to avoid problems from too much tension/vacuum, I've found it's also helpful to fit my glans inside the bell when applying the device (although its shape has deformed and might reach the point where it is no longer useful).
14) Diesel225 and a couple other users mention what I've been doing intuitively to get a good vacuum: press the pump until your glans fills the bell, then turn the pump to the lock position, pull out on the tension clip to see if any space remains inside the bell, turn the pump back and pump again to remove any remaining air, then turn it back to the lock position and put on the belt.
15) Imac and Diesel225 mention poking a small hole in the protector cap to allow any air between the glans and the cap to be sucked out by the pump. I haven't tried this.
16) Diesel225 suggests small sized regular condoms (maybe a non-lubricated variety) as a potential cheap alternative or temporary replacement for the phallosan condoms. He shows the regular condom attached with a rubber band to the bell and suggests a Velcro strap along the shaft could help achieve a tighter seal. He also mentions the auto-extender silicone sleeves as an option. I haven't tried either, but when my free condoms are all used, I might try one or both of these.
17) Julian suggests using a marker on the belt to track your progress. I haven't done this, especially since the elastic material of the belt might make this an unreliable indicator.
18) Tylerdurden8us suggests unscrewing the "indicator barrels" and brushing a little WD-40 on the edges of the white plastic screws to stop the squeaking "chipmunk trapped in your underwear" sound. I haven't tried this, but it sounds like a good idea.
19) If you tear a condom and don't have a replacement in the size you need, some users suggest temporarily using the larger size that comes in the kit on your bell and achieving a good seal by cutting the end ring from the bottom of the smaller, broken condom and sliding it down to the base of your penis, applying the device and then sliding the smaller ring up around the larger condom to hold it in place.
20) A handful of users have already reported erect length growth.Last edited by pudendal; 10-31-2013, 12:07 AM.

Great summary! That thread is getting really long and probably could have been divided into smaller threads a long time ago to prevent that. What do you think of the experiment Kickinthemebs is hosting? I think it is a long over due one for experience based evidence of rest days vs no rest days and variable time vs regulated time.

I think it will be hard to draw any conclusions with such a small sample size and unclear definitions about the cohorts. It seems to me someone who wears the device for 20 hours every day has a routine closer to another user who wears the device from 10-20 hours a day than they are to someone who wears the device for a regulated 8 hours a day. I try to get 10 hours every day, but if I haven't gotten 10 hours, I wear it to bed and then might get 14 or more hours. So would I be considered variable time? Also, I don't intend to take any rest days but just recently took more than a week off after an injury. So people are welcome to draw whatever conclusions they want. I certainly plan to document my experience, but it seems to me like the best we are going to be able to say is if the phallosan works or not but making recommendations about rest days or hours will be difficult.Originally posted by IronMonkey View PostGreat summary! Not being done in a clinical setting, with at least 40 men, there are a lot of variables that can hinder a clear results based definition of each tested theory. However, we are doing the best we can with our sampling size. We know the Phallosan will work for most people. I have already gained back the quarter of an inch that I lost when I stopped with the x4 Labs extender. I so I know it is doing something. All we can do is report our experience and hope to be able to extrapolate something useful. And I believe we will

Yeh exactly, I think it will be beneficial if we all (everyone using the phallosan) keeps track of their hours in the device and their gains during it. Even if there are lots of variables in the equation such as genetics, different penis types, and other PE work, it might still give us some insights about what worked/didn't work for people. I think people's contributions at specific time-points might help a lot, i.e. 1000, 1500, and 2000 hours usage. Although, this might take quite a while before people reach these hours. Although I think I am nearly at the 1000 hour mark, if not over it.

Shaft Hair and Loss of Suction:
Unfortunately, hair grows on my shaft almost all the way up to the circumcision scar. This can become painful sometimes when rolling up the condom to remove the device and a hair gets caught in the condom. But beyond the pain and inconvenience of having shaft hair while taking off the phallosan, it occurred to me that the hair might also have an impact during use:
Does shaft hair promote leakage and loss of suction while wearing the phallosan?
I guess the evolutionary advantage of pubic and armpit hair is that it is supposed to facilitate air flow in places that become hot and sweaty to keep these surfaces from sticking together and causing jock itch, intertrigo, etc. It seems to me that the hair could do the same thing between the surface of the shaft skin and the condom, leaving small pockets of air where the hair holds the condom off the skin, preventing a good seal and allowing for slipping and loss of suction as you move.
So do other guys with shaft hair also experience loss of suction while wearing the phallosan? Would it be better to shave the hair or would the stubble that returns be worse than long hairs?

WHAT?!?! How do you remove the condom without getting those pubic hair rolled in too? That's crazy I can't imagine the pain of that if it happens. Using any kind of PE device I highly recommend you shave your pubic hair and keep it shaved and clean everyday. You have a higher risk of possible injury if you have unshaved pubic hair and you will never be able to pump if you ever want to experience it if you have pubic hair. It limits you a lot with PE devices so I highly recommend you shave it.Originally posted by pudendal View PostShaft Hair and Loss of Suction:

Bundled Stretch with Phallosan:
People recommend manual bundled stretches as a way to target girth gains. It occurred to me that phallosan users focusing on girth could apply the device in a "bundled" (ie twisted) conformation for some of their hours of wear time. Because the bell can rotate freely in the tension clip, you have to twist your penis and hold the bell in place as you attach the clip, but once the bell is pressed against your skin, your penis is prevented from unwinding. I think people usually do anywhere from a half twist to one and a half twists as they stretch.
This is just an idea for people wanting to target girth gains using the phallosan. I can't report to its efficacy as I am concentrating on length so I haven't tried it for any extended time. Let me know what you think!Last edited by pudendal; 11-19-2013, 07:07 PM.
