I must admit I also feel better after eating a nice piece of chicken after a workout than a protein shake.

+ It's easy to just look down at "an amateur" with a less impressive physique than someone being on roids. Sure pro bodybuilders work their butt off but those hormonal supplements are a HUGE help to gain a very impressive physique.

Bolkonsky you probably know more about roids than I do.. But I can't help to think: atleast protein shakes are WAY healthier than roids.

Many of those guys look like morons wearing clown pants. My favorites are the guys using huge amounts of HGH and it actually makes their head grow and not in a good way.

Even if your taking roids you still have to work your ass off.

Basicly those compounds will push you past natural limits as far as muscles. Also there are compounds that will make you more veiny and cut.
        Start: 8/2013: BPEL: 6.3" EG: 5.1"
        Current: 9/2020 BPEL: (8.3 inches BPFSL: 8.9 "* MEG: 5.9
The Goal: BPEL: 9 inches EG: 6.5"

I know that .. But it's way easier to get an impressive physique (better physique than 95% of men) while being on roids than doing it naturally .. I never understood why pro bodybuilders use them .. Isn't it far more impressive if you have the killer physique ALL NATURAL? That you are naturally the best .. The best genetics, the best discipline, etc.

Anyways, I know steroids don't give you automatically a perfect physique but it sure as hell is way more easier to get big while on those hormonal drugs.

I also don't like the "amateur" stuff .. So taking protein shakes and creatine is only for "amateurs" then (the 2 best natural bodybuilding supplements in terms of muscle building) .. It's like being a guy on roids makes you a professional ..

I'd rather look amateur and live a long and healthy life than looking great on the outside but fucked up on the inside = tumors on your liver/kidneys/etc, shrinked testicles, acne over the body, bigger heart wich can cause problems, ... Way too many risks on the use of steroids ... I still need to figure out "what good use of steroids" exactly is .. Because that's the only counter-argument I see from users. Unless you really have to because of doctor's prescription, I don't see how you can use them "wisely".

+ Bolkonsky even I knew there's an IFBB hall of fame .. Like in almost every sport/discipline there is a hall of fame .. Strange you didn't know that for a third placer at a national championship.

bolkonsky: I know what i'm talking about Trex.

            Seriously with this? HAHAHA

Well if Wikipedia says so POINT TAKEN....

If you think Bodybuilding has a hall of fame just know that the glorious pictures hanging up on your gym wall doesnt count.

Have you ever been to the baseball hall of fame? I'm a huge baseball fan and guess what I've been to the baseball hall of fame. My grandfather was posthumously awarded the metal of honor and they have a hall of fame. The IFBB does not have a hall of fame. There are not enough fans and noone really cares. If they did it would literally be ONE HALL about 10 feet long.

Trex get your head out of your @$$ on this one. nothing but love tho brotha.

Purple Ones... thank you. your very correct.. I probably drop about 1 gallon of water while i work out just in sweat.

Sperminator.... Stop being a sucker brother... All Bodybuilders even the guys who swear up and down the wall that they are all natural, They are ALL on steroids. I promise you this.... 95% of the guys that compete (even in the all natural shows) are on shit.

Nothing wrong with taking anabolics. They are great. If you can take them correctly they have such minor side effects. Its the nature of the beast. Even the guys that dont look like they are on them, they are on them.. MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA : everyone in these leuges is on them. You cant compete at that level and not be on them. lance armstrong for christ sakes doesnt look like he takes TEST but he does.

The nature of the beast .. Taking some chemicals to get big .. But hey I don't care man How many bodybuilders get heart surgeries etc when they reach their 40-50's from all the drug use. That's pretty beastmode, lol.

+ Probably all the athletes take them yes, but I never cared to search for some proof about that .. I know Armstrong was on EPO ofcourse .. But for the athletes from the other leagues .. They do get tested right?

I think that is it everyones own choise to take anabolics or not.

Personally I'm planning on taking some in future after doing my research and actually building a good foundation for myself.

Natural guys a hate a lot on the guys who use roids but it is everyones own choise.

Well as far as natural shows yes many guys use well atleast while in off season since you can clear your system from those compounds if you start taking them early enough.

Well atleast many of those guys on natural shows use so called ''side enhancements''.

I think that it is smart to build a foundation while being a natural and later on make that choise of using or not.

Depends on how you want to look and are you ready to inject yourself.

What's all this talk I hear about building a "foundation" before going on the juice? Arnold Schwarzenegger started juicing when he was 15 years old. He didn't build a solid foundation first he just hopped on right away. And by the time he was 19 he was 250 lbs solid muscle. And Mr. Universe at age 20. Should he have waited and spent 5 years building a foundation instead? He wouldn't have been Mr.Universe at age 20, or have been the youngest ever Mr. Olympia at age 23, if he had spent several years "building a natural foundation" first.

I am in no way jealous of people who take steroids .. It's everybody's own choice and personally I think guys like Ronnie Coleman or Phil Heat look hidious.. I also want to do way more with my life than just spending years and years measuring and preparing food + going to the gym..

Anyways, I just can't help but to think how many people get tempted to use steroids while their is so many proof about the negative side-effects ... And it's not like one negative side-effect, steroids literally have tons of negative side-effects + If I'm correct you are fucked if you basically quit steroids after you started using them because your test levels will be fucked etc ...

                            Still people use em ..

Also a negative side-effect about steroids: you get cocky as hell .. Look down upon people who go the natural way etc.. But hey "if taken correctly ...". Can someone explain to me how you take steroids correctly? Like what you need to do to have as little negative side-effects as possible? Please .. I'm so curious about that .. I always read from users they don't have that much negative side-effects .. "you need to educate yourself" and blabla .. I just can't help to think "so I'm the one needing some education" .. it's just dangerous stuff. Someone enlighten me and tell me how you should take steroids to have as little side-effects as possible ..

Yeah this thread is way offtrack but I'm curious now ..

Well it is kind of stupid to take roids when your a teenager since you can mess up your test levels for life.

Also you have not stopped growing so your ''growth plates'' haven't closed yet.

Building natural foundation before jumping on cycle is important to get your joints and tendons used to heavy weights.

When you go on cycle your gym weights most likely are going to go up a lot so if you haven't built your foundation naturally you run into a risk of an injury due to not being used to heavy weights.

Also by building foundation I mean learning how to perform all the basic compound movements and know how to diet in general( both bulk and cut).

What is the point of jumping on a cycle if you do not know the correct form on how to perform the basic movements?

Taking steroids at any age will shut down your natural testosterone production. You will be just as shut down if you start juicing at age 25 instead of age 15 like Arnold.

It's true that taking steroids during puberty can cause the growth plates to fuse prematurely, which could prevent you from reaching you full natural height. However, Arnold was 6'2" at age 15, so I don't think he had anything to worry about, he was already taller than most men. You know he said in his autobiography he was 6'2" and only 150 lbs when he started? He put on 100 lbs of solid muscle in only 4 years!! Most guys couldn't do that even with all the steroids and growth hormone money can buy! So yes genetics are always a factor even when drugs are involved.

A good bodybuilding program is not geared towards heavy weights, so the thing about giving the joints and tendons time to develop first is a non-issue. I work out with a guy who has 20" arms, and he lifts the lightest weights. 20 lb dumbbells for lateral raises, curls 30 lb dumbbells, does bench press on the machine, doesn't even touch barbells or dumbbells for benchpress. Doesn't do anything with the barbell actually. He does bent over rows and shrugs on the Smith Machine. Only uses legpress, leg extensions, and leg curls, he NEVER does squats. Yet his legs are huge! He does dumbbell flyes with 40's or 50's, but only on the incline bench, never flat. He said flat bench is bad for your shoulders. This guy is a monster, one of the biggest guys I've seen, and many smaller guys in the gym lift heavier weights than him. But he does a lot of sets, high reps, his tendons and joints are under almost no stress. He never gets injured and is bigger than everyone in the gym.

Guys need to get this idea of lifting super heavy weights to build big muscles out of their heads. I curl 70 lb dumbbells and my arms are only 17", he's curling 30 lb dumbbells and his arms make mine look like twigs.

I absolutely agree with you though about learning the correct form for the basic exercises, before jumping on the roids. The guy I train with uses perfect controlled form on everything, he doesn't worry at all about the weights, he just uses strict form and goes for the burn. Full extension and squeezing at the top of the movement.
