    spartax,

thanks for the post regarding your situation. I agree with everything you are saying. I too am glad I avoided the VED and PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT FOLLOW "burtybassets" advice to use hanging and extending exercises to heal peyronies!!!! Sorry "burtybasset" but there are far more cases of further injury than healing through those methods. Yes, I've seen a couple cases over long periods of time where this helped but they were doing many other things as well so it is actually tough to say what helped the most.

From my research, diet and lifestyle related methods are the best cure for peyronies because it is merely a symptom (a terrible one yes) of much larger underlying health issues. Just read "Self Cure Foor Peyronie's Disease" by Thorsten Blair. It is a fantastic handbook for people dealing with this condition.

I wanted to give an update on where I currently stand:

Finally I have seen a doctor recently who is willing to do an ultrasound to prove once and for all if I have any scar tissue which would prove if I have peyronies or not. I go in on wednesday for the ultrasound and should know the results next week. The doctor was not a urologist and I had to go out of town to a "holistic" type clinic to get someone who'd actually listen to me. Sad but true. Most urologists don't listen to shit and don't really give a shit from my experience.

I have been doing further research on modes of regenerating healthy cells within the body such as cases like Mitchell May from The Synergy Company (those supplements that I so HIGHLY recommend). I have started a routine of deeper/longer daily meditations (an hour or more) where I actually lie down and listen to "healing" meditations via youtube. I've yet to invest in a series or anything but I'm considering doing that. I find that some of the binaural beats, frequency mediations, and guided healing type meditations are really working wonders for my mental/physical state. This in turn with the much deeper sense of relaxation I'm experiencing during the meditation, I truly believe is the type of state the body can work "miracles" in. I'm developing an attitude that is grounded in a deep belief that I CAN heal my downward curvature and erection problems through the very mechanisms that would heal anything else in my body.

So, I've just started another attempt at a 90 day abstinence period. I've never really made it past about 65 or 70 days and with the results I've seen from just generally not masturbating more than a couple times per week, I know a 90 day phase would do wonders for me. The longest I ever went gave me the best erections I had gotten since my injury at 13. I'm doing pretty good not watching porn, though I slip occasionally. I don't feel the urge to watch it like used to which is a good thing. Mental fantasies I find build me to a much more natural and pleasing orgasm.

I'm still eating super healthy and doing yoga as well with lots of targeting on the pelvic floor. I definitely feel like my body is in such a state of health that my penis could heal itself from the excess energy within me. I just have to learn to channel it in such a way that my beliefs don't inhibit the process (which from my research is a HUGE factor in these seemingly "paranormal" healing scenarios).

All in all, the healing I've seen in a single year's time from yoga, meditation, and diet are amazing. I've not been committed the entire year. I've gone through a couple phases of falling out of yoga and meditation though I've kept the diet going pretty strong. Though some of this I didn't learn how to do properly until more like 6 months ago. I've also still had habits of smoking pot or drinking alcohol too much here and there though mostly I've been better with that. Those things DO NOT help btw lol.

I'm also planning on doing 3 juice fasts within this next 90 day super cleanse and abstinent period. I really feel that things are at a tipping point now and if I really dedicate myself to this again, I could see the changes I've been waiting for from the beginning. I swear the day I get an erection that is completely strong at the base I'm going to cry. It's been a long and strange journey. I can't wait for my next girlfriend. It's gonna be awesome.

Oh and my mental state continues to strengthen. HOCD has become a murmur in the background. My anxiety is something i'm aware of now and able to control. I am at ease and mostly comfortable in most situations of day to day life. This is HIGE compared to used to. I mean a year ago I hit rock bottom with all of my mental stuff. I was severely unhealthy in the mind.

I will have more to share soon once I find out if peyronies is a factor or not. I may start a new thread if it is not...considering the title of this would then be misleading. I will link to it from here if that's the case.

    and stevew,

it's tough for me to say what to do about your situation but I can assure you that all of my recommendations over the past 6 months in regards to diet alterations, meditation, and yoga really apply to any sexual dysfunction situation. It's universal...because we're all human and these methods are things that provide vitality and healing to the human body and mind. So I would pick up some of these habits sooner than later.

I would also find a doctor whose willing to give you an ultrasound. No physical examination is going to "prove" that you have peyronies. You need the ultrasound to detect for the plaque. If you don't have peyronies it is likely that you may have a tight pelvic floor with other underlying mental problems which may be leading to the tight pelvic floor and the syndrome of "hard flaccid". Read "HF Unravelled" to see if any of those symptoms line up with your own.

DO NOT GET SURGERY YET!!! That should be an absolute last resort. I'm telling you man, at the end of the day, sexually speaking, girls just want a guy who can get a hard on. They don't give a shit how it looks as long as it works and as long as you are confident. They feed off a man's confidence and mental state far more than the shape of his penis. Trust me, attraction has a lot to do with how you feel as a man. So work on getting rid of nasty emotional issues regarding your situation. That's where the meditation is helpful as well as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). Also, stop watching porn and try to give your penis some rest. Try not masturbating for a month or two then not more than once per week or every other week. It will help a lot with ED and confidence issues.

I'd really like to help you through this man cuz I know what it does to your life. It's like living in hell until you get some of this dealt with and a healthier mind going. You're young and shouldn't have to be dealing with this...but so am I and here we are. You can only do all you can do. So start there and don't look back. Also, try to catch when you pity yourself. Don't feed that monster. It will never make you feel better. You need to say "FUCK THAT NOISE, I am going to be a healthy man with a strong mind who can please women emotionally and sexually." That's a good way to develop a healthier sense of identity. Also, start doing some cardio too. I find that helps my energy levels a lot.

    Cheers everyone,

Thank you alot for the reply! Update on my curve i measured it... it was actually a 30 degrees downwards curve and i think the one to the left is more like 5 or 10. My penis curves left and down... i notice that my penis when soft also curves the same way and also my penis on the opposite sides (right and upper) are bigger, for instance when i straighten out my penis with my gland head dead straight i can see this. I beleive i have a natural curve. I do have that indent though above this blood clot vein thing i have which is very smaller and not very noticable.
I'm just hoping the penis curve excercises i did to try and cure it didn't give me peyronies... i mean i got pins and needles then stopped no big pain anywhere so...
My ED is due to porn i mean i'm pretty sure... used to watch it 1-2 times per day for atleast 1 hour and for a very long time... i mean since i was 13 probably.
Also with the pelvic floor... i stopped sports about 2 years ago and only go to the gym to do strength training. Most of the time i sit playing video games of which i think is what has caused my weak pelvic floor. I've started doing excercises now though. I'm thinking my weak pelelvic floor may have contributed to the curve possible (really not sure on that).

I know 30 degrees isn't like massive compared to some but with the added fact that it could be a bit more curved (not sure if i was like fully hard) it really does look pretty odd compared to most penises and downwards curves are pretty rare. I gues if this blood clot thing heals up i could try jelqing against the curve again. I think there are surgical ways of cutting a bit on one side to correct natural curves i could look into. I've stopped being depressed though lately on the pure facts that there is hope and if i do correct my curve my penis is of good size.
Just like too add no pain during erections atall and i don't think i've had any narrowing although my penis is thicker around the middle so if it was to occur it would be hard to know...
Sorry that was really kind of jumbled up
      Thanks again!

stevew, seriously man, my penis has had a curve of that much for a long time from the base of the shaft downward... you need to work on getting past the porn. do some yoga to stretch your pelvic muscles and relax everything a bit. I would not get surgery for something like that. it sounds like you could totally have sex as long as you can keep a good erection (which quitting porn and getting healthy will totally help with). Surgery is not all it's cracked up to be. We're made to think that it's totally fine and can fix anything. But really, it introduces many other problems. I would go the healthy route and I guarantee you'll find a girl who goes nuts for you as a person and for you sexually. really, a downward curve can do things an upward curve can't. It's a fair trade off really.

Just to go along with the thoughts of Voodoo I think it would potentially be a huge mistake getting surgery, which can often create more problems than it solves. I've heard of guys who went in with a 30 degree curve and either come out completely impotent, requiring further surgery with a pump insert or else with curvature in the other direction. Obviously there are success stories as well with surgery but very few seem entirely happy and it totally fails to address the underlying causes of Peyronies. To me surgery is a very blunt tool that will one day be viewed very poorly indeed.

Peyronies by it's very nature tends to evolve and sometimes it gets worse, while other times it gets better. A good of example of this for me was shockwave therapy that my urologist wanted to try at one stage, claiming it would miraculously straighten everything and cause the scarring to disappear. Fast forward a year and I no longer have any trace at all of scarring in the area that he wanted to bombard with shockwaves.

One of my biggest gripes about the treatment of Peyronies are heavy handed urologists who think they can do no harm by treating your penis like an exercise in origami while they pull and squeeze in every possible direction simply to guess how bad the scarring is while they write up their notes. After my last visit to a private urologist here in the UK I was in agony driving back home and in considerable pain for the next two weeks before it started to subside. In the meanwhile I had multiple scarring appear in areas it had never existed before following the examination and it took months to get rid of. I never went back...

I first came around to this idea of healing through nutrition, rest and exercise after seeing examples of people who had healed other supposedly incurable diseases through a similar approach. Good examples are Joe Cross who made the documentary on Juicing called "Fat sick and nearly dead". Then there is Ari Meisel who cured himself of Crohn's disease by going on a very similar diet, practicing yoga and exercising like a maniac. In this sense I'm not sure the name of the disease or symptoms are particularly important. It's the complete dedication to whole body health that works given time.

If it hasn't been mentioned earlier in this thread I think a healthy gut is very important because that is what helps to regulate your immune system. Eating raw fermented vegetables and avoiding antibiotics will be helpful here.

Couldn't agree more. I think over the next 20 years you will see an exponential decrease in the amount of surgeries being performed in all sectors of health care.

Another documentary worth seeing is called Forks Over Knives, which is all about a vegetarian diet in relation to health and healing. I mentioned Ari Meisel previously and there is a short 5 minute video on Youtube (see below) where he talked about his fight against Chron's disease. To me the important aspect of this is that the approach is valid across a whole range of health conditions just as Voodoo and myself are finding.

No doubt there is more that I can do but to put this in perspective my Peyronies only ever got worse while I was on prescribed medicines, yet started to turn around in a matter of weeks after I dropped them all and switched to a mix of vegetarian diet, rest and exercise.

Not least because antibiotics are now proving ineffective in many cases, which will make surgical operations far more open to infections that cannot be managed.

Thing is though i don't think i even have peyronies. I mean the curve is banana shaped, my penis is bigger on the opposite sides (not lumps like the actual penis meat itself as if it's grown more on one side. I also have no pain or hour glass shape. I'm not sure how reliable this source is but...
The Nesbit operation for congenital curvatur... [Int J Impot Res. 1999] - PubMed - NCBI
                  Here's another...
:: Asian Journal of Andrology ::
I mean maybe it's different with peyronies operations but these seems to prove that it's not very risky. Also on the second one no one has a curve less than 35 degrees.
With it making it curve in the other direction... well i doubt it was by more of a degrees then waht they had from before.
Although if my penis stopped working because of an operation.... like if thats a common issue that can occur... do abre in mind most people who will contact this part of the forum will be ones of which things has gone wrong so... the issues that occur from surgery may not be as drastic.

p.s Hope i didn't sound atall like overconfident as if i know alot about the subject... i'm just explaining what i've read.
Hope you guys can give me your opinion. If it is peyronies trust me i will do anything such as dieting to treat it. But a natural curve can only really be corrected by surgery i think.

I'm seeing a NHS urlogist in about a month i will be interested in to what they say. But i've heard bad things about them so i wanted to read up before so i know i'm not getting robbed of anything.

It took me almost two months to get an appointment with the first urologist I saw was through the NHS. When I got there he examined me for about ten seconds before saying "there is no treatment and no cure; accept it". He then offered no advice whatsoever, so I basically wasted two months for nothing and left the hospital feeling really upset. Hopefully you will have a much better experience and don't even have Peyronies but in the meanwhile try hard to avoid any further damage.

Levels of pain vary tremendously with Peyronies, so it's not a good indicator. In my case I had some pain with erections for the first few months but not afterwards, however I have suffered pain for hours at a time on a daily basis for a couple of years that only now seems to be subsiding when left alone. Some men say they have no pain at all and can't locate any scarring yet still have deformity.

To qualify for an NHS operation they will probably want to wait at least two years from the onset of Peyronies with no change for at least 6 months. They will also be reluctant to offer an operation unless sex is physically impossible with curvature around 45 degrees, so in my case I think they would refuse now and yet a year ago the private urologist said an operation would be my only option and he was only waiting further as a formality. I'm glad I never went back and stopped taking the treatments he prescribed.

I gather the Nesbit operation is the safest and simplest but not always the best depending on your situation. It's basically just a case of sewing up the opposite side at various points to forcibly reduce the curve and leaves you with a somewhat straighter but permanently shorter penis. Some men later complain that they can feel the stitches under the skin, making sex uncomfortable. On the plus side it rarely causes problems with erections. Loss if sensitivity can occur with some operations.

An operation is a major step and more importantly it won't actually fix your Peyronies. Yes the curve will be forcibly reduced but the underlying problem with all the baggage it carries will still be present. As I have seen myself the condition can also go through periods of worsening before it improves so you have to give yourself every chance to heal naturally. On a side note GPs are generally clueless and very few urologists even seem to have much idea about Peyronies.

                      • I'm hoping they can offer me ultrasound because for some the plaque is really hard to find.
I mean is your penis bigger on one side then the other. Like when i line the bottom of my penis shaft with my head and looking from above i can see my right side is bigger and when i look under and try to straighten it my penis seems to be bigger on top. It's hard to explain imagine a fully straight penis with the girth being equal along the whole thing mine is thicker on one side so it's grown more. And it curves down like a banana. Is yours 'bigger' on any sides of your penis?
Back onto UK NHS urologists considering i'm 18 i think i will get a simular response although if i explain to them that it's really ruining my life (which it is) hopefully they will dicuss possible surgery options. Although they may be likely to refur me to a private cosmetic hospital i've seen a website for one which offered surgery for congential penis curve but that would cost alot of money. I'll have to see i mean i heard traction devices can help in strengthening your weaker side of the penis and reduce the curve. Although doing that could cause peyronies...

                        • Can i just add a comment i found on congential penis curve surgery. There seems to be quite a few options of which some involve not reducing the penis size.
The link here: Considering Congenital Curvature surgery? - Peyronies Society Forums
                          The comment i'm refering to:
Norm your info is not complete is not that basic. There are several techniques used inserted in 5 basic approaches:

                          - Excision and Graft
                          - Incision and Graft (Example: Egydio Technique)
                          - Excision and plication (Examples: Stage Technique; Modified Nesbitt; Original Nesbitt,..)
                          - Incision and plication (Yachia Technique, Levine TAP Technique,...)
                          - Nonincisional and Nonexcisional plication (Corpora Rotation Technique; Tom Lue 16 Dot technique,...)

Only the first two are lenghtening approaches, the others are shortening approaches (not counting the rotation technique). They can use absorbable and non absorbable sutures, they can opt to deglove or not deglove. Besides this you have to take in consideration whats the type of curvature (Dorsal, Ventral, Biplanar, complex including shaft rotation, if it is Peyronies, congenital, degree...). Why? Correction a curvature on the dorsal side is not the same as correcting through the ventral side. Ventrally you have the Corpus Spongosium and Urethra, dorsally you have the most important Neurovascular bundle. The question of degloving the penis can actually comprise a miriad of reasons, like the type of approach, particular case, aesthetical, full access to penile shaft,......
The STAGE technique can be considered a modified Nesbitt Technique, but honestly i would consider it a bit more than that. Whats the diference?:

                          - Nesbitt Technique (bigger tunica elipses are excised, can go to 1cm width until curvature corrected. Both tunica inner and outer layers are implicated. This creates a point of maximum tensile force specially during recovery)
                          - STAGE Technique (Small eliptical excisions are made (3x2mm) until cuvature is corrected distributing the tensile forces. A major benefit is added. This technique only excises the outer layer not rupturing completely thetunica albuginea, in some way is similar to Dr. Levine TAP Technique, actually i had the oppurtunity to discuss this with him.)

                          • hey stevew,

You really might want to start your own thread so more people can comment on your situation in a more detailed and organized manner. I think you might find it more worth your while.

From my perspective I would tell you couple important things.

First of all, if you haven't attempted sex yet, I would DEFINITELY NOT GET SURGERY. Look, not to say that it couldn't be an option for you at some point in the future but really man, you need to exhaust all other option before going in for surgery on your penis. They are going to try to make it sound as easy as possible so they can sell more operations. You need to find sites that have many personal accounts of the very surgery options you are considering. Don't take a surgeons word for it...you know the old saying “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” So, a surgeon is going to block out in his own mind all the terrible things that can go wrong on the post-end of an operation because if he let it in his mind he would feel like an absolutely terrible person when people lose their ability to use their penises.

Second of all, you might be surprised what your penis might start doing if you get super healthy, quit watching porn, and abstain from masturbating very often. Some yoga and pelvic floor exercises such as minute man's DO guide might actually change the shape of your penis a bit through mere strengthening of the underlying muscles. I'm beginning to experience this first hand myself.

And yes you need to get an ultra sound to rule out peyronies if it is not...but also that doesn't mean that a healthy diet and yoga can't go a long way. Your body can do amazing things when given a super nutritious state to work with.

But yea, start a thread man and provide as many details regarding your situation currently and over the course of your life as well as questions and concerns you have. People will be more willing to help you out because they will be able to read it all very easily. It's just making this thread more difficult to follow at this point.

                            cheers,

                            voodoo
