However, I talked to a lot of urologists (even emailed some) who said they sometimes cut the whole Dartos fascia during a circumcision and some don't always stich it up because it heals back together by itself. There was a member who claimed he tore his fascia and got surgery but he never posted where he got the surgery or he never got back to me on skype which suggests he wasn't honest with what he was saying. I guess it's a theory people would buy into because a lot of people struggle to get rid of the HF but I don't think there's a lot of evidence supporting it
I remember reading that awhile back, I knew you were the only guy that talked to him and no one knew of his whereabouts.

Yes exactly. He seemed very genuine and said he'd get back to me, but he never did after a year and a half. seemed very odd as I'm sure many people would post more information about the "surgery" they got.

        Dear all,
This is my first post on here. I am 32, circumcised and live in the UK. I wanted to share my experience and hypothesis. I am a doctor (Phd) but not medical. However, I do believe that my research skills have taught me a fair bit. Here is my story...will try to keep it as short as possible, but enough to give you insight.

I went to bed on the 1st of September 2016 and woke up the next day with a red inflamed meatus and felt some shock pains. I went to my GP and was diagnosed with thrush and was giving clotrimazole cream and this didn't work. I did all STD checks and they came back negative.

The adventure continued and I took fluconazole and this also didn't work. Long story short I went to a urologist and he told I may have a submeatal structure and undertook a cystoscopy. By this point my symptoms got worse. I can urinate fine, but always have post urinal dribbling that I need to squeeze the rest out (no pain during urination).

Then my penis had pain burning sensations along the right side of the shaft. My penis became inflamed and to date is unrecognisable to me. The colour is darker and the texture is rubbery and the skin under the glans are so wrinkled. I can get erections but my penis shaft is inflamed. Very uncomfortable in the flaccid state as it sits differently in a wide shaft and looks swollen. The pain has subsided since I took pregabalin for nerve control but I am always in discomfort.

However, the following should be useful to you I hope after I have studied the penis anatomy to the point that when I saw the fourth urologist on Monday he was taken back by my knowledge and depth. A depressing visit for me when I felt (not blowing my own trumpet here) that I knew as much as he did in a few months of me studying it compared to his 30 years experience. He even asked me if I was a medical doctor.

        1) I have done a cystoscopy and it came back clear

        2) two ultrasounds of pelvic and testicles all clear

        3) MRI and no abnormalities found

        4) every urologist and andrologist says either "looks normal to me", "I don't know" or "it's in your head". The classic responses for 200 pounds a visit.

Anyway, my theory is that what I have and what you guys may have is a torn superficial fascia and let me explain why with logic:

Firstly, when i thought/hoped it was dermitis or balanitis I used trimovate and dermovate and took antibiotics (ciprofloxin) they did nothing. Now in my MRI which I have to copies of on cd, I asked my andrologist and the radiologist what can they see and what can't be seen. They can see until the tunica and I had no plaques (be careful a lot of urologists will jump at peyronies if they don't know).

Now this leaves 4 areas undetected by the MRI I did: the bucks fascia, Aerolar tissue, superficial fascia and the skin. Since the skin never improved with the creams I used, the wrinkly skin (which was completely smooth before all this happened) has to be affected internally and not externally. I would assume that my tear is not the bucks fascia (hard to tear this) plus it would have impinged on the three cylinders in my penis (given it an odd shape at least in the MRI). Now this leaves the aerolar tissue which is kept in place by the superficial fascia. Assuming I tore this part, the tissue would go crazy and become deformed, which would in turn impinge on the skin.

I have typed up a report and now sent it out to to urologists which details every test I have done, the results, and medication I have taken with the exact dose. I also then propose my theory. A top urologist from London is interested and he is well renowned and I am seeing him this Monday. I will update you all on this.

Important points to mention is the following from my experience and 4000 pounds spent so far:

        1) MRI scans do not show fascias or aerolar tissue.

        2) please, please do not see any urologist, you must discuss with one that has done reconstruction surgery as they have actually opened up a penis and can therefore give a better clinical diagnosis.

        3) my inflamed meatus has never gone away which means it has to be an injury and will never really heal as urination will always disrupt the healing process. In my case the inflamed meatus acted like a blocked pipe and so when urinating, the urine forced its way through and put heavy pressure on the fascias that tore and caused the inflamtion and swelling.

I have never done any PE exercises or even jelging. In fact I had to read up on the later to know what it was.

Anyway, I am also super depressed, can't believe it happened or how it happened, but wanted to give some insight. I have a great job at a top university, great gf, Phd from another top uni and only felt my life was nicely coming together and then this happened. Not your common penis problems you find on the net, but not quite a penis fracture something grey in between.

Finally, it is depressing that urologists/andrologists seem to know little after so much studying and practise. Also they have any lack of curiosity to work anything new out. As a researcher with a PhD this is unacceptable and I would never turn one of my students down if they came up with a curious case in my field, but that's just me.

Please feel free to comment and ask me anything.

I suspect you have pelvic floor issues ;you need to see a physio who does pelvic floor work. Stress /anxiety is your enemy at a physical level .

Thank you for your response. I don't think it is a pelvic floor issue. When my symptoms started I was just back from holiday and super relaxed/ not stressed. My chiropractor thinks my pelvic is fine (known him since I was a child). I also had MRI and ultrasound on pelvic area and it was fine. Also, as my veins are more prominent with errections then before all this happened it would indicate the torn superficial fascia (as it is torn) is a sheet no longer there so the veins etc show up more clearly. Thanks for your comment tho!

Totally agree about going to the US. It's my next step after London. I agree doctors are better there. The system here is literally useless! Private or public.

In that case there is really nothing that we can do accept listen to your experience should you decide to stay here and not leave like the vast majority do. If you are able to prove your theory, things could change around here.
Good luck and above all, hope you make a full recovery.
