  • Rest day yesterday.

    Measured yesterday. 8.25

I'm going to introduce a set of manuals into my routine this week.

I feel great about my training, but I think I may have hit a wall. Probably expected after a year if extending. I'll ride out the next 3 weeks then see what my next moves will be.

      • Damn it.

My extender finally broke yesterday. No amount of superglue or electrical tape is fixing that!

Fate has spoken. I've started hanging last night.

        4. 4 lbs for 40 mins in 3 blocks

I also did a light 2 sets of directionals.

I'll be sticking at 4.4 lbs for a week at least.

        • Hey Pound. Read a bunch of your log, I’m new to the forum and the gains you’ve had are awsome. Been thinking of getting one of those cheap extenders on eBay too. Do you think wearing it a few hours a night after my kids went to bed would be enough?

            Hey there.

Yeah I reckon you'll be good to go. I was gaining with 2-3 hours. Build it up slowly, do am hour for the first week then ramp it up to 4. If you're pushed for time, throw in some sets of Directional stretches for 30-40 second holds.

If you're new to all this, I recommend conditioning first. You could do a jp90 style conditioning. That will get you familiar with the basic bread and butter stretching.

You could condition your unit with the extender if you don't fancy the jp90. You can do this by wearing it for 30 mins 5 day a week for a week, an hour the following week, 2 hours the next week and so on.

Wear it in both the straight up and straight down position, alternate between the two.

Finally, consider jelqing after you finish an extending session.

Good luck man, wish you all the best.

                • Today's session

                  20 jais
                  All the way rounds
1 hour of hanging 4.4 lbs
                  1 set of directionals
                  25 min edge

I hate edging, but it feels good to pump blood in the unit.

I'll probably train tomorrow then take a day off on Monday.

I need to redesign the head piece as it's slipping a bit. No real worries though.

My unit feels good, great pis etc.

I've got a good feeling about this. I'm convinced this will get me to 8.5 in the next few weeks. Fingers crossed.

                  • Ahh man.

I can't get on with the Hanger I've made. It's slipping too much.

I'm only hanging 4.4 lbs but it won't stay on. I've tried everything today. If I drop the weight it stays on, but I can generate the same weight using an extender.

I've had to bodge repair my extender. I won't be trying hanging again anytime soon. It's hard to hide in the bathroom for an hour and a half to get the job done. My wife knows, but it's still hard to get the bathroom to myself for that long!..

So back to extending it is.

                    Today's session.

40 mins of hanging 4.4 lbs

                    3 hours of extending

                    2 sets of Directional stretches

                    12 min pump.

I might try hanging for half hour (that's about all I can manage before it slips like mad) then stick the extender on..... But I'm just not happy with hanging. Ffs!!

                      • I'm looking at getting an extender to use as ADS as well since it looks like it gave you good results.
Do you think it was something like this?:

Yeah that's one. But make sure it comes with a Thera band. A white Thera band. The noose has less slippage for me than those click straps it had on that picture.

Talc is awesome for preventing slippage.

I've tried using the extender as an ADS but I have had most results just using it as normal.
