  • Today I felt a 'tinge' of soreness, but really, I should be healed with a few days of rest in a row (yet I am not).

That's why I'm taking yet another day off...

Really, it's been almost 5x rest days for me.

    • Sorry to hear about the slight set-back Blink.

I am sure it will not set you back for long.

      • i measured yesterday:

        6.69" (+.69") BPEL, 5.125" (+.24") MSEG

I'm still .06" short of my old best, 6.75" BPEL, I'm sure I'll do that within a month; I just have 1/16" to go. Effectively, I'm just 1.16th" (or perhaps a hair under) from reaching 6.75" BPEL (my old best).

I look forward to finally surpassing that measure which I reached back in 2008. I'm just not there yet...

          • I didn't take supplements for 7 days. I finally took them again last night... I had good morning wood this morning.

Could there be a connection... I think it's quite possible...

            • My Routine Lately:
              17-Sep-10 6x sets, 10lbs max
              18-Sep-10 1x sets, 7.5lbs max
              19-Sep-10 6x sets, 7.5lbs max
              20-Sep-10 6x sets, 10lbs max
              21-Sep-10 7x sets, 10lbs max
              22-Sep-10 rest day
              23-Sep-10 1x sets, 5lbs max
              24-Sep-10 rest day
              25-Sep-10 rest day
              26-Sep-10 rest day
              27-Sep-10 rest day
              28-Sep-10 rest day
              29-Sep-10 2x sets, 7lbs max

I'm going to have to work back up to 7x sets... I'm not sure how long it will take. Yesterday I was still a little sore from the injury, so I stopped after just 2x sets.

              • Is the soreness still a 'tinge' Blink or are we classing this as a full blown injury?

                • I'm currently doing my 3rd hanging set so far today with no pain, so I think I was close to injury, but luckily it was not too serious.

It was a minor injury -- I lost about 8x days so far. At least I did 1-2x light sets on a few of those 8x days. It may take me a week or two as well before I hang a decent amount of weight again too.

                    • Thanks.

I did have a decent routine yesterday (the first in a while)

                      Routine
                      30-Sep-10 6x sets, 5lbs max

I'm being very cautious and taking it slow. Those sets were actually split apart (not all at once).

                        1-Oct-10 6x sets, 5lbs max

Yesterday was more like 4.5x sets (since I felt a tinge of pain).

I don't see to feel any pain today, I don't feel ready to 'push it' yet, so I am only doing 5lbs. I didn't reach fatigue today--every set was 5lbs.

                        • I'm still struggling with the injury.

To avoid aggravating my sore spot, I tried to attach the hanger at a different point (not the one I normally use). It backfired and hurt a bit (apparently there's a vein there that doesn't want to be squished). I'm thinking of going 4x-5x days with very light sets, and then afterwards I can try again and see if I can return to normal hanging.

I asked Bib for his opinion, but I worry that this is the kind of thing that only an individual can truly determine (how severe is an injury/ how much time to take off/ when am I healed, etc).

I decided to go light today. No pain at all. I'll try 3x sets tomorrow. I'm taking it slow to give my penis more time to heal...

                            • P90x + Lifting at the Gym: 20lbs Lost (4 months)
I'm now on week 8 of P90x, and I've lost 20lbs so far. I've still got a long way to go before I get a 6 pack, but I am finally getting some real traction here. I have been working out regularly since July, so it has taken 4 months to start getting into shape. I predict it may take another 6 months (nearly a year to get a 6 pack), but it may be sooner. I do think I am in decent shape again, so I can work a lot harder, so the pounds might come off faster. My goal (as I mentioned) is to get a 6 pack. This would help me avoid being at risk for things like Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, etc, plus I feel better and I have more energy when I am in shape.

The weight is also coming off slowly because I have not altered my diet much. The diet I am eating now is the one I plan on eating for the rest of my life. I know if I did a low carb diet I could shed the pounds fast, but I personally believe this is not the right way for me to go about things. I'm going to take the weight off slowly, and most likely if I gain weight again, it will (hopefully) come back just as slowly. I do plan on working out to prevent that though...

I have been as low as 185lbs at 4.5% bodyfat, although I believe I have been close to 200lbs but still in the single digits of bodyfat (later in life). I'm currently 230lbs which is still not healthy for me (I don't know my current bodyfat %, nor do I want to!--suffice it to say I am not in shape!). I am sure I can drop to 200lbs (possibly lower). I'm lifting though also, so there's a chance I'll stop being able to drop weight before I reach 200lbs. I am pretty sure I'll be at 10% bodyfat (maybe lower) if I can get down to 200lbs.

                              • Great work so far blink, personally I think bf % is all garbage and is damn innacurate, the only way to get it accurately tested is in
the dunk tank, calipers are crap lol I and most bodybuilders completely avoid them, use the mirror as your best judge, take weekly photos at the same time
of day in the same poses to see if you are progressing. If you have stopped losing weight, it's simple, either up your cardio or drop carbs by 50g or so, that's an easy 200 calories dropped there. Keep veggies high, probiotics are great when it comes to digestion, lots of fibre from veggies too. Keep up the good work! I'll be starting my diet in january
