Edging 101

  • Alright, I've got a few small questions but still important ones.

    1) Is pre-cum leaking normal? Had more than usual today (maybe because I haven't jacked off in a while) ...
    2) I don't do a lot of kegels or grab my shaft to stop myself from coming (only when it's really needed). Is this okay? I just stop stroking my shaft when I am getting close to PONR.
    3) Is edging once a week enough? I've got a 3 on 2 off routine -1 day off for edging, the other one for completely resting.
    4) What am I supposed to feel at the end? Just that normal feeling of ejaculation or something different with no pleasure?
    5) Any minimum time limit for a beginner? With the methods I've mentioned above I think I can last 30 minutes.
    6) Do I need to warm down?

    Now on a positive note - even though I haven't noticed many morning / night woods recently, the edging session felt amazing. It also took me a while to go to full flacid state - I was semi erect and semi flacid for about 15-20 mins to get to the flacid state. I hope that's a positive sign.

      Here we go:
      1) Pre-cum leaking is perfectly normal, especially when you have long edging sessions or when you're highly aroused. The volume of pre-cum vary from one man to another but for myself, I do produce a lot of pre-cum. It makes you save some lube
      2) Start/stop edging is fine at the beginning (you stop stroking when approaching the PONR). When you're more used to identify that you reach the PONR and when you condition enough your PC muscles through a kegel routine, you'll be able to prevent yourself from cumming through a strong kegel. You should start, if not done already, a kegel/reverse kegel routine in addition to your PE routine.
      3) Edge as many times in a week as you want, as long as you don't get neagtive PIs from it in addition to your PE routine. 3-4 times a week is ideal and you shouldn't edge on rest days (rest days are for rest!). But once a week is still fine.
      4) If you ejaculate at the end of your session, you may experience stronger orgasm if you've been edging for a long time. In all case, this should bring you pleasure...
      5) Try to edge for at least 20 minutes.
      6) Some members, including me, uses edging as a warm down after a PE workout...

        But this reverse kegel is what I don't understand.
        I know normal kegeling is when you imagine yourself stopping urinating. The anus tightens first and the the penis muscles do. Also, the lower abdomen muscles contract too.

        Is it RK when you contract your penis muscles first and then move to the anus? If so then I am getting a REALLY hard time getting that right.

          If you can reconize what muscles you are kegaling then kegel them all.

          • How often can you edge? I want to do it to improve eq and frequency, started today for 30mins, no cum. I mean without any ejaculation. Is it good to do it as often as you want (eg more than once a day) as long as you don't cum? Or is there an optimal level?
            PE'ing on and off for a few years.
            Current: 8 (bpel - top) (Around 8.5 side bpel) x 5 (meg)

            • I tried edging today. This was my first time and I did it for 30 minutes, I got zero PONR while doing it. It felt that I could go on forever with this, then I got bored and ejaculated at 30 min. Does this mean that I don't need to do edging to improove stamina?

                I edge everyday with the occasional two or three days off. But I only ejaculate 3 times a week at the end of my edging sessions. I have yet to see an negatives to this personally.

                It seems like you should be able to answer your question the best. How long to you last with a woman? If it is not the desired amount of time than continue to edge and if it is then don't edge. Or edge after PE for restoring fresh blood into your penis... I dont think there is a negative to edging.

                  • I've just settled my firts PE routine and I've included edging to the end of it. The thing is: I'm also doing Ulis during the edging.
                    So whenever I reach the PONR I perform a 20sec Uli. I repeat this about 5 times.
                    Do you guys think this is a good idea?

                      • is edging a beginner exercise or should it be done more towards advanced?
                        Also, what is considered a "beginner", "advanced", etc?
                        I've been doing PE for about two months now, not sure if I'm still a beginner?

                          • Once you have completed a 3month beginer course you are no longer a beginer.
                            There are many types of edging some are beginer and some are advanced.

                              • It's 8 days without ejaculating (an eternity, for my standards). This let me to have awesome jelqing sessions, without porn or fantasy work, and an enormous unit.
                                Downsides:
                                -testicle pain after edging (even with 10 only minutes of edging, and up to 2 hour of pain)
                                -full erections just with the hot water warmup
                                -extreme difficulty to get flaccid to do stretchings (i have to stretch while standing in 1 foot, or doing knee exercises while watching youtube, etc).

                                I would be curious to measure how many milliters I will shoot. any ideas?
