I think that abstaining really helps. I think that my hard flaccid is getting better and better and it is healing. Even tho I still have sex with my girlfriend. Condition after sex is much much better. I also don't have strong daily hard flaccids anymore. I think that only thing we shouldn't do is masturbate. Wrong thing that we are doing is, that we are forcing blood into the penis with masturbation. The only good way of getting erection is by spontaneous erection and sexual arousal (if you ask me).

My condition has been good lately..
Reducing stress, doing yoga, eating well, doing my best to sleep well etc. all help.. also, I agree that abstaining is helpful, but you dont have to go overboard.. if you have firm flaccid all day, then I would abstain until condition imrpoves, but if you only have it now n then, no need to completely stop sex/mastrubation, but I would suggest cutting down a bit.. also, dont let this get you down, theres more to life then your dick and you will survive a lowered sexual/mastrubation frequency.. if anything it will be a good thing.. conserve your vital energy!
Also, I really believe pelvic floor tension plays a role in this problem, do what you can to relax the pelvic floor.. Also, I would not do anything to artificially inflate the penis, that means no viagra , no pumping, etc. and when you do get erection, keep pelvis relaxed, dont flex BC muscle to make your dick harder.

So this is like the 24th page on the 8th or so hard flaccid thread and I still haven't heard of someone with a bad case make a complete recovery. when are we going to admit to ourselves this isn't going to heal on it's own? I'm starting to think the only way to heal this is with surgery but doctors won't even take us seriously.
I'm really starting to lose it here. every morning I wake up to a shriveled up cold package and i feel like shooting myself. how are all of you keeping your cool?
Keeping a positive attitude isn't fixing the problem. Drastic measures are going to have to be taken. perhaps we should bribe doctors to take us seriously with large amounts of money. Or tell the doctor you will kill yourself if he can't help you. I have a feeling the doctors know there is a problem but are to clueless/unmotivated to do anything about it so they just tell us it's ok so they don't have to admit there is a problem and they don't know how to fix it. Perhaps they just need some motivation.

Hey man. I have seen several men use alpha blockers for some degree of relief. Why don't you give some alha blockers a try? Tell your doctor you are experiencing the symptoms of prostatitus (look up). These drugs completely dilate the blood vessels in the dick. I am going to be trying the one called uroxatral soon. For that is the one I saw most commonly to be used by the men with this condition. (in other forums of course, at medhelp) so, Im going to give this a try. You might as well try such a thing too man, because if it doesnt work after 5-7 days of using it, well then whatever. But it is certainly worth a try my man

Thats almost what its like, and the outer penis skin/tunica gets really tight. If you're uncut then your foreskin also gets really tight and wrinkly and doesn't want to retract. Take your thumb and forefinger with your flaccid inbetween and gently apply pressure, it will be really firm like a banana as opposed to having some give. With my 5 years of research into this (im 99% recovered from it now btw) i'm strongly convinced it is hormone/gene related. Basically get your testosterone up and estrogen down, and this problem is less common.

Over there we have about me and a couple others that experience hard flaccid. We've done countless hours of research and more for it. However we did not get it from jelqing injuries.
To keep it short and simple, although WAY more information can be found on recovery; There are two possibilities at this point
1) The hormonal theory
High amounts of NE (norepinephrine) is causing a spike in PGe2 which also raises prolactin levels.
Out of the members here, how many of you have had hormonal testing done, and what were your prolactin levels like? Over on the board almost all members with hard flaccid showed high prolactin levels. Mine came in at a prolactin level of 17.
2) Pelvic floor dysfunction
This is something we haven't really researched, and it isn't researched much in the medical community at all. Pelvic floor disorders occur in women quite often after giving birth. Perhaps a constant tightening we cannot relieve otherwise known as dystonia is causing the hard flaccid. The little amount of research I've put into this suggests that this could be treatable through deep relaxation and trigger point therapy. There is a forum that specializes in that, I can't remember the name but I could always find it. Some on there claimed to have cure sexual dysfunction through their therapy in a span of a couple months to a year or so. However I'm not sure how much of the member base actually had hard flaccid if at all.
One thing that we've found is abstinence although helps, it does so only temporarily. Eventually you could have a wet dream and set back all of your abstinence waking up in the morning with a hard flaccid again. Also it's showing that abstinence over long periods of time, excess of say more than a year can lead to a low libido that may be very difficult to raise back up.
We have A LOT more information over at recover, and would be willing to help anyone with their cases with the information we do have. However we are looking at the hormonal route at this point in time.
Edit; to those asking for pictures, unless you get the penis in a turtle state, what is more likely to happen is the penis hangs like a regular one, but on touch feels hardened on the inside. Without actually feeling a hard flaccid, looking at it won't clear anything up for you.
Also, low testosterone levels = sexual dysfunction, however it may not equal hard flaccid. As three of our members with hard flaccid did not have low testosterone including myself. We are still doing extensive hormonal testing to try and understand the underlying causes, like I said, the thing we have in common is high prolactin levels.
Also don't let the title of the forum fool you. Many people have linked this forum before and sold it as overmasturbation. I never overmasturbated and I have a hard flaccid, many of us do NOT think overmasturbation was the root cause in the hard flaccid. One of us got it from doing MDMA. I'm not even sure why I got it, what we think is the cause is we have a genetic predisposition and underlying stress as well as drugs can cause this. Several people who took MDMA woke up the next day with a hard flaccid. I myself have been a sufferer of chronic depression and insomnia for half of my life. Just overall stress to the body lead to a shutdown and it's our job to somehow reboot it. So we don't all ascribe to sexual exhaustion.
I cannot however speak for those of you who got it through physical trauma. IF that is the cause, it SHOULD show up in micro trauma reports led by a urologist. Simply telling your urologist that you jelq and have experience weird symptoms should lead him to doing a micro trauma test, if no trauma shows up, then perhaps jelqing did not do this to you, it was just a coincidence.Last edited by Technical; 01-20-2011, 04:46 PM.

Hey guys. So i've been reading a lot of these forums pretty often as of late, as I have become a recent victim of this 'hard flaccid,' and been suffering from it for a little over a month now (approx. 40 days)
here's my story, feel free to read it or skip past it, I don't know if my story will shed any light on this, though overall it seems a tad different than many others who have posted here.I know its long as hell, and i am sorry for that.
I've never done any P.E. or anything. Up until now, my dick has been perfectly healthy. I had good size, could please women, could go multiple times within a short span of time for sex, etc. I masturbated at most every other day, but it was more like every few days.
So starting during this fall semester, I had begun a pretty rigorous Plyometric work called Insanity. Its made by beach body (same people who make p90x), i'm sure plenty of you have heard of it. It is really a great work out, and includes alot of jumps/squats/etc, though without any weights. I generally ate pretty healthily. However, i also began smoking a fair amount of marijuana throughout the semester, usually at some point on most days. I also midway through the semester started having some sleep issues, though i was able to resolve them by taking Melatonin, which i was taking whenever i couldn't sleep (no idea if this would have anything to do with anything).
So the weekend before finals, i went out on friday night. I drank some, and when i got home smoked a bowl and decided to beat off and then go to sleep. I was definitely a bit desensitized, so it took me a little longer to finish then normal, but in retrospect it really wasn't an absurdly long or abusive session. However, I did notice that my ejaculation was not as powerful as it usually is, and it hadn't been earlier that week when i had masturbated. I thought it was a little strange but again, not very much so, and shrugged it off.
On a side note, about two weeks earlier i did have a sex with a friend of mine four times in two days (two sessions per day, two days in a row). Don't know if this at all contributed, but i did ejaculate a lot more than usual in a short span.
I woke up the next day, and while i didn't inspect my penis thoroughly or anything, nothing seemed alarming. I went on with my day, studied, and everything seemed totally normal until that night when i started working out (was doing an insanity work out). Shortly into the work out, i reached down to rearrange my junk, and boom. Hard Flaccid.
Since then, i have pretty much stopped smoking weed completely, and cut my drinking down a decent amount. I have not been exercising really at all, but figure i need to start running at least, plan to start tomorrow.
I've thought over every part of my story and i feel like the cause could be pointed to so many different things.
I mentioned the work out i was doing based on the pelvic floor theory that has been thrown around, because i feel as if Insanity could potentially put alot of stress upon the pelvic muscles, and After focusing on them, i realized I am often tensing them without even knowing it. Additionally, the fact that I did not notice the Hard Flaccid all day (if i even had it up until then) until i started working out (lots of jumps/squats) really makes me wonder if this is a pelvic floor issue/injury. On a side note, my mother has a rare and severe pelvic floor disorder, which could point to genetics.
There is always the possibility that i injured my penis during my drunk masturbation session, however i really dont want to believe that. I know penis's are more fragile than we think, but I don't think i was being too hard on the poor guy...and although i had had more ejaculations as of late, i dont think it was too many in such a short period of time to consider any kind of sexual exhaustion.
Additionally though, some type of chemical imbalance would also make a lot of sense, as i was working out very hard for a period, but also not getting great sleep and smoking weed most days.
as far as working on remedies, ive been taking the general suppliments everyone suggests, i.e. ginko, fish oil, etc. As of late I have added magnesium along with Taurine, L-Glutamine, and a suppliment from GNC which features a multitude of Amino Acids. I recently (last 2 days) have been using magnesium oil on my body and penis, which seems to actually help a bit, but again nothing permanent. I began using the amino acids/magnesium after reading some other forums and seeing one guy in particular on medhelp cure himself with magnesium supplementation. Still too early to tell if thats the cure for me. I honestly dont know how much these supplements help at this point, but im kind of afraid to stop taking at this point, ha.
As most people have said, Attitude really affects this so much. When im distracted or with friends engaged in conversation or whatever, i can totally forget about it, go take a piss, and my dick will feel way closer to normal. but once im alone and start thinking about it/touching it every 5 fucking minutes, it tends to get worse.
Additionally, I have not masturbated in about two weeks. I know that people are weary on the effects of abstinence, believing the relief is only short lived till the next ejaculation, but i want to try it for as long as i can. though i will say it has been difficult lately. but i will say it seems that ejaculation seems to make it worse. however in the past two weeks i may have made some strides that would make ejaculating less detrimental to the way my flaccid feels.
My libido has overall been down, but it varies, and has been a little better lately (may definitely be attributed to abstaining). Random erections are down, as are nocturnal ones, but i have had them some. Also as many people note, erections are generally weaker without stimulation. When i do stimulate them (i.e. to masturbate) it does feel unusually hard in certain ways, and the head doesnt get very hard (however i dont feel like the head got super super hard anyway before this incident).
I will say though, i have had sex once since i've had this. It didn't go nearly as bad as i feared it may have. I did get very hard, lasted a decent amount of time, was into it, and blew a huge load. This helped my psyche alot, as i was scared to death over it.
At first I was an emotional wreck, but i am alot better now, and more optimistic. I figure that feeling sorry for myself gets me no where, so i may as well be hopeful about it.
one big thing that I have realized that helps me deal with it and stay positive is that i really can't see anything that i had been doing causing a permanent injury. I know there is a way to reverse this, and people have found ways. Its just a matter of time/effort/staying positive.
Im sorry, i just wrote a fucking novel. thanks if you read it all. This is 40 days of repressed stress. I'm seeing my second Urologist next thursday, and i intend to make a list of shit i need to get tested (i.e. testosterone, hormones, etc) and also look into a pelvic floor therapist/specialist. I am also interested in looking into trigger point therapy.
I am determined to overcome this. . I know we can, we just have to figure it out.
i swear i will never have a post this long again ha, but will make contributions to the thread any time i can.
additionally, to turtleproblems, could you elaborate on what you said about estrogen/testosterone, and how you are 99% cured? I remember reading about your problems earlier, so i am intrigued.

Well i'm 23 and had both hormones checked, total test was normal high, but free test was low and estrogen high. Seen 5 urologists and none of them could find any type of damage or venous leaks or anything wrong with my testicles. A GP i saw did say that my blood pressure was slightly high, so I have cut back on caffeine just incase it was one of the reasons. I used to jack off alot to porn every day, I no longer look at porn at all and cut back on ejaculation. I also cut back on weight lifting, I used to lift 7 days a week which was way too much even though I was never worn out from it and still got good gains it caught up with me eventually. I got into PE and had good erect length gains, but nothing much for flaccid gain or much cure for the hard flaccid problems. My next goal was to just improve my girth and flaccid size/hard flaccid it was then that i got into pumping, green tea, and a shit load of other supplements. About 1-3 months into that I noticed big improvements to everything including a few things I didn't expect. More girth, softer bigger flaccid, better orgasms, more head girth, penile veins less apparent, bigger more firm nuts, bigger darker scrotum and more sensitivity. So was it the pumping or the supplements? I don't know and honestly don't care. One of those worked so Im sticking with it forever. I recently got in to taking tribulus and anti-estrogen supplements, even more improvement with everything I listed above.
This worked for me, so I'll be doing it the rest of my life.
