I like how detailed you are in your log to the T. How long have you been hanging ?? What made you start to hang?? Do you know how to put links in threads?? Thanks Blink2000!

Vulcan:
Thanks for the compliment. Honestly though, I am just really cautious; I don't want to ever get injured. That might not be realistic with the controlled damage I'll be doing. My penis feels like silly putty lately. I think hanging has really softened me up. I'm pretty conservative... you'll see I hardly use any weight. I really do try to follow the whole "less is more" advice myself.
Danner:
"How long have you been hanging ?? " 7-9 months but not sequential (i lost .75" in gains, now I've regained a little over 50% back w/ .4")
"What made you start to hang?? " i studied PE intensely before i started. i had decided to hang before I even started the beginner routine.
"Do you know how to put links in threads??" I do this all the time, check out some of my articles

My New Hanging Underwrap (HTW Replacment)
I just got back from Wal-Mart, I picked up a "What-A-Grip" for $2.50
I'm going to try & replace my HTW underwrap with this (for hanging). The HTW is not working well enough.
I'm going to see if it's possible to combine the "What-A-Grip" with a golf swing weight ADS, although the "What-A-Grip" by itself supposedly works pretty well as a traction wrap, so maybe that will be enough for me.

Yeah I know you do it all the time but how do you do it exactly?? Becuase I want to put links in threads I just don't know how could you explain in detail how to?? Thanks this would help me out greatly.Originally posted by blink2000 View PostVulcan:

Ah, no problem--I just thought the quotes would make it harder for other people to read the log. Also, I welcome your questions. Like you, I'm also trying to figure things out, achieve my goals, & make PE work for me. I think keeping a log and getting feedback from others helps keep us motivated. For me, that's the biggest benefit of the forums (other than the information). The ability to interact with others helps a lot, because in real life, I can't talk about PE... but I'm always thinking about it. For people like me, this is our only outlet.

Stealth ADS
Here's a stealth VAC ADS; a guy I know bid at the last minute & got one for $8.00
Stealth ADS ESL40
I think I might want to try one of these. If I plateau I'll probably be looking into doing something extra. That's off in the future though..

Routine Today: 5x sets @ 7.5lbs max
A New Way To Wrap: HTW under What-A-Grip + Theraband
What-A-Grip over HTW seems to provide better comfort than anything else I have tried. The HTW prevents slippage but it doesn't pull on the skin in a way that hurts. The What-A-Grip mostly just holds the HTW in place so I can wrap the Theraband quickly & easily--as well & rewrap. I've been experimenting with different ways of wrapping myself.
If I remove the What-A-Grip, the HTW just rolls up onto itself (like a condom). The two together seem excellent. For now I think I have finally figured out a better way to wrap. My flaccid is growing & my veins are more pronounced, so I believe I am making progress. I checked my measures, nothing has changed, but my flaccid is hanging much better. A few months ago my flaccid was usually 3" to 3.5", now it seems it's mostly around 4" unless I turtle. Right now I think my BPFSL is my limiting factor, it's about 6.25" or so. A few years ago I had my BPFSL up to 7.5" (or close).

I found a nice picture of What-A-Grip. It came from here:
dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1897759
Mine is black though; not blue
https://www.pegym.com/forums/attachm...-what-grip.jpg
It's basically just a thin rubber tube. very stretchy horizontally, but not vertically (you''ll see what you get it). It's perfect for PE because it holds its form a little bit.Attached Files

Routine
5x sets again today @ 5lbs max.
I guess I am still fatigued from 7.5lbs yesterday.
No Rest Days
I have not taken a full day off since mid-june either (over 2 months at this point). I'm trying to find out first-hand how well Bib's no rest days theories works for someone besides him.
Inconsistent Split Sets
I am not getting split sets though (day night split). I do it sometimes, but its for sure not consistent. Maybe I'll do that when I add a 6th set (after I'm in the 10lbs + range).
Bib believes just one set split several hours from your primary sets helps you keep healing in an elongated state. Its very similar to the idea of adding an ADS to help heal more elongated. (while the primary sets are doing the controlled damage)Last edited by blink2000; 08-14-2010, 04:59 AM.

That's funny, I have played tennis all my life & I use the classic blue grip by Tourna but have never seen this Whatagrip. To me it looks bad for tennis but good for hanging.
When I did some hanging a while back, I tried using some cut up Chamois leather, people were saying how good it is. I thought it was Ok.
I realize now that I was attaching my wrap too low - right above the glans.
Blink do you think it is counter productive to use hanging 'now & then' - would you say that there is a minimum time period that someone should do it for?Vulcan

Now & then might work if you're using an Extender or ADS. You need a way to make yourself heal in an elongated state. Otherwise, hanging will make your ligs & tunica potentially heal shorter (bad news of course)Originally posted by vulcan View PostBlink do you think it is counter productive to use hanging 'now & then' - would you say that there is a minimum time period that someone should do it for?
I don't know if you can realistically get a good lig stretch with an extender (do you know?) I think even if you could, the angle would be awkward, & maybe you couldn't sit down. I'm not sure...
For hanging, here's what the veterans overall seem to recommend:
Optimal Minimums: (Ideal, but not always realistic)
10+ hours per week (minimum)
10lbs-20lbs (long term, guys always say they gained the most between 10-20lbs, off the top of my head, stillwantmore is one example).
10+ hours per week is hard for most guys to reach. That is why I mentioned an extender or ADS in the hanging thread; if you can't reach the minimum number of sets, (its only a theory at this point) maybe an extender will help. Millia is doing it right now, hopefully he can enlighten us after he tests it.
My Strategy for Myself, Based on Those Minimums
Here's my strategy: stay at 5x sets until I reach 10lbs+. Once my max is maybe 15lbs and my minimum is let's say 10-11lbs (or something like that), my plan is just keep adding sets to stay in the 10-20lb range as long as I can (that's my own theory, not based on bib... the 10lbs+ part). I am hoping a huge number of sets in the "ideal" range can deliver maximum/big gains.
But... Don't worry about the Minimums!
If you don't meet the 'minimums' don't be alarmed at all! Millia made some awesome gains doing very few hanging sets per day.
First, no one can start at the minimums... so its more of a long term goal. Also, you'll still gain regardless of the 'optimal minimums'. Some guys justs hang 2x sets a day for years, and eventually gain 2" total (etc). I'm thinking of Monty (a guy on thunders). He does hanging (just 2x sets), then he wears a golf weight ADS all day. The guy is 8"x6.6" (maybe more, I'm not sure) and started with very average or slightly below average numbers.
If you can reach the optimal guidelines, the odds are in your favor that long term you will reach your goals much faster. Also, I wouldn't go more than 2 days off of hanging if possible (ever), unless you're just conditioning / trying to get used to the attachment point stresses (the sheer forces of the hanger attachment). Your skin might get sore at first, etc... I think its fine to let yourself heal during those stages.
What Bib has taught me though, is great hanging gains come from consistent, controlled damage with both morning & night sets (aka split sets--you need at least 1 set at a different time from your other sets). You have to ride the fatigue, etc etc... this is all i the guide of course.
I think I put the minimums there too--but threw in my own 2 cents with the 10lbs-20lbs range for max gains (once again, thats based on my own observation). For now though, I'm going to let my self go up in weight slowly, I hope that will maximize my gains long term (I'm not rushing to 10lbs, even though I think that will help gains).
If you want to post what kind of routine might fit your schedule, I can try & give you some feedback or ideas.

You have confirmed what I thought to be true Blink. I am going to persist with my manual stretches & try & get to 8.25-8.40
Since I have started to stretch at higher angles, I feel myself responding to it. I get loss of tug at 6 O'clock, so I should stretch at 9>12 O'clock right?
I have been doing this & I feel a really good lig stretch & also at times a very god tunica stretch -which is rare for me.
Thanks for the advice Blink, I am in limbo at the moment. Trying to formulate a routine split, I will run it past you when I am happier with it.Vulcan

LOT Theory
I posted LOT theory here:
https://www.pegym.com/forums/pe-theo...ck-theory.html
If you read it, all it does is try to explain why some guys 1"-1.5" from hanging & why some guys gain 2"-3" from hanging. Bib's theory is that some people have more potential deformation gains in their ligaments, so he thought that could account for the variance in results of different hangers. The thread elaborates on all this (I revised the thread recently)
Which angles to attack:
I mentioned hanging angles & other things in relation to LOT theory but that was nonsense. Regardless of your LOT, the best way to stretch suspensory ligs (at least with hanging) is BTC & SD-- Once you maximize the deformation in your suspensory ligaments, you can get more optimal tunica fatigue, deformation and ultimate gains.
At least that's my understanding based on a recent conversation I had with BIb:
Bib's Hangers • View topic - Blink's information
Needless to say I reread everything & made some corrections to my posts afterwards.
As I mentioned above, I do wonder if extenders can help with Lig gains--if they can, they will be more complementary with hanging. However, the way the base of the extender just rests against the pubic bone, I am not sure whether it can effectively stretch your ligaments.
