Synovial Sarcoma occurs in 1 in 3 million people. So I was thinking on the way home from work, how many people at this occurrence rate have my daughter’s cancer? So, there are 7.6 billion people on this planet. Doing the math, there are only 2500 people on Earth with my daughter’s cancer. REALLY! Come on. Now I understand why her doctors and surgeons were so surprised to find out she knew another girl with the same cancer. Crazy.

Thank you Kim, Merry Christmas.

Here in the States there are only 125 others with her cancer. Can’t even fathom the odds of her and a friend on the same small college track team have this cancer. No wonder her docs were freaked out. Stay out of the Eel river I guess.

So a short update. Made the Christmas family rounds, she was asked to see her skin graft. She obliged, after all it will be with her for the rest of her life. For a first timer it’s pretty nasty still despite how much it’s improved. It red and tanned after the radiation but has some blistering which is important not to pop or could get infected. Trip back to St. Louis next week, full body cancer scan, I’m scared to death, and a visit with her oncologist, flap surgeon, and physical hand therapist.

So. Posted a few pics of my girlie’s arm, after graft and radiation. Looks great compared to a month ago, believe it or not. Some very bad blistering evident and 6 weeks of daily radiation. Ah, still waiting to wake up from this nightmare.

oh, I get it now! It’s a scientific fact that eating boogers as a kid growing up inhibate penis growth in puberty.

I must be the exception, I didn’t eat boogies. So! WTF?
