I reject all self-reported studies of penis size. Just too much temptation to lie and no controls. The most exhaustive analysis of all scientific studies that did not include self-measuring is summarized as follows:

"Finally, a study which may lay to rest some of the lingering fallacies about penis size and alleviate the woes shared by many men worldwide. According to new research, the average erect penis length is just over 13 centimeters, or around 5 inches. Furthermore, there’s no strong association between foot size and penis length, so women can stop judging men by the size of their shoes. You can read the entire study in BJU International.Although many compare themselves to the “average” penis size, what this figure actually is has been surprisingly difficult to determine. As pointed out by Science, that’s mainly because most studies have relied on self-reporting, which isn’t very accurate. To get around this problem and obtain a more reliable data set, a team of U.K. researchers decided to compile measurements taken by health professionals who followed a standardized measuring procedure. They included both girth (the circumference at the base or the middle) and length (pubic bone to the tip of the glans) measurements from 20 different studies, which totaled 15,521 men from various countries across the world. And the results will be music to the ears of many.
The average flaccid penis was found to be 9.16 cm (3.61 inches) long, whereas the average erect penis is 13.12 cm (5.16 inches) in length. In terms of girth, the average circumference of a flaccid penis turned out to be 9.31 cm (3.66 inches), and 11.66 cm (4.59 inches) for an erect one. Furthermore, those at extreme ends of the spectrum were found to be much less common. For example, only 5 men out of every 100 have an erect penis longer than 16 cm (6.3 inches).
When they looked for correlations with other body features, such as testicular size, weight or foot size, no strong or consistent associations were found. Although they couldn’t find any significant evidence for a relationship between penis size and race, they note that conclusions can’t be drawn since the vast majority of measurements were from Caucasians.
So what’s the take home message? Men, don’t be so hard on yourself as what you see on the TV or in magazines is not an accurate representation of the average penis. But if you’re concerned, make sure you’re measuring correctly"

This study recieved a lot of critic onsite for numerous reasons which went for pages . For a start the 15,000 thing is very misleading the actual number in the ERECT was only hundreds and most of these from a single Indian study . The guys then drilled down into the Indian study and went at that there seemed doubt that it was bpel as the meta study claimed and so on and on.

In any case all modern studies have come up with similar numbers a fraccccc more for the bpel often circa 5.6 bpel but the general pattern holds . So what do a slew of different studies across the world tell us bpel is 5 point something and girth higher side 4 point something . All the internet crazies can go on being crazy the truth is pretty plain.

People who enter PE are generally significantly over average already so polling people involved in PE would be a skewed and unrealistic number that would not truly represent the average size.

Agree Peg. I have always believed the 5.1” average EL in that study too low. I figured 5.5 is probably average or on the high side maybe 6”.

Clearly 7 isn't really above average. I would say the averages are probably closer to 8 or 9 inches but the researchers have to lie. Why? Can you imagine the impact it would have on society if a lot of men found out the real averages? People would lose their jobs once their confidence diminishes, suicide rates would skyrocket and society would just collapse. No, 5 inches is safe. The truth is just too risky!!

Why would they have to lie about averages? If they randomly felt like "5 is a safe number", what made that number safe? And why is penis anxiety and dysmorphia extremely common, even with people who are above the average that all the studies have established? I thought about this quite a lot. And from time to time, I still get thoughts in my head on my own size and where it compares. There is a lot you need to take into consideration. For one, porn is skewing our perceptions (both men and women) of realistic penis sizes. Pornstars don't get into the industry just because they want to get paid to do films. They make up a very small percentage of people. Even then, it has been talked about how in the industry, "movie magic" is done behind the scenes that gives them the shots they are looking for. It's unhealthy for men and women to base "realistic" penis size to all the editing that gets done to produce what we are seeing. Also, when you are out or online, and you heard discussions about penis size and you hear people who are endowed, how do you know if it is true? How many men actually pull their penis out, get erect, and then pull out a tape and measure themselves properly? Even with the women that talk about penises they experienced, did they actually measure them? And correctly? Or did they take the man's word for it?

That kind of makes me think about working angles on dick pics. I'm not sure if it's in my head or not but for me, my strength is my girth in my opinion. I noticed that when I send a girl a dick pic, the best angle for me to use is with the lens out in front with my erection sticking up and the whole underside of the shaft is exposed. they might have tilted the average slightly on the low side for obvious reasons
I mean lets mention the cosmopolitan unrealistic beauty standards. and how females react to that. fake eyebrows fake boobs fake ass fake lips botox vgina and so on.

now think about if they lied and lowered the number. in that case. majority of dudes woud feel like their size is above average, making them feel more confident...

I have never been with a girl whose reaction was "meh" when they saw this burrito. The reaction has been more or less equivalent to a kid that got this awesome new toy. They just can't wait to play with it!

Most of them tell me that their past partners were (then they show me a certain length of their finger or hand) which usually measures out to be between 5 and 5.5 inches. Then they typically tell me about one partner that was a bout my size or my length, sometimes a little smaller, sometimes a little bigger.

And I think the majority of women don't really know what measurements look like. I'm going even further and saying that the majority of men don't even know the true measurements of their own cocks. With the exception of this site and similar sites that has countless forums and articles on how to properly measure, the population of men that stumbled onto them is probably very low. And let's say they did measure correctly. It is very common for men to add inches to the stories they tell about their dicks when out in public.
